very beautiful and genuinely touching.

however, the reader inside me is slightly disappointed with the lack of crudeness in the whole narration. too much of icing there.:(somehow the story gives us the feeling that it is specially catered for the western readers--eastern culture served with a bit of curry powder and lots of unwanted garnishes.the floating thick layers of exaggeration and manipulation at few points are a bit difficult to stomach.

After my divorce, I folded those torrid silks, packed them neatly in a cardboard box, and discarded them into the holy Bagmati River where it blended with human ashes from nearby funeral pyres. Opaque, muddy water clogged with silt swirled around the box until the container turned a dark, molasses brown. It sank slowly, without much drama. As I watched the debris of my marriage disappear, I felt no remorse about the act.”.......lost in strange confusions of thinking. sounds very very dramatic. i wonder why would someone embrace that option instead of giving it away to some less privileged ones.

thanks for sharing. it's always a pleasure to read your piece.

best wishes
