This was an old question from the previous post. How are the market categoried. I hear all the time on TV with word like, Semiconductor, Blue chips, Pharmaceutical (I guess it's medical companies),Energy (oil, elctricity if I'm not wrong). Are there more? What exactly is NASDQ,S&P,DOW? I know people trade stocks there, but beside do I need to know anything about them, how will they be realted to me if I use brokers.
