Here is my personal experience. Since I returned to apply my knowledge in Nepal, I started focusing on educating children after I met some motivated students from one of the worst government schools in the community. Then even found sponsors for them and transferred to better schools. There was activity in our facility every day. You could say it was project-based learning and fun all the way. These kids started community service on their own when they were in grade 7. It became a part of them. Here are couple of books of their service.

Later, to train them further we started programs in schools in the community. We reached 11 districts by the time they completed grade 12. During such motivation programs and community clean up campaigns, we met some other talented students, who later joined us. This is on such story. There was this girl who was all round talented, sports, dance, studies, leadership, etc. When she was taking her SLC, her father, who was an engineer, had a vehicle accident and passed away on the second day of her exam. There was no one else to support the family. She could not continue her +2 either. So, I put up a status in my school alumni page if anyone would like to sponsor this girl. One of the younger brother, settled in the US, and childless, offered to help her as their own child and even help her get her medical doctor education in the US. So, all was set. I was happy to link them. But I made a mistake. Unlike the previous sponsored children, since she was in college, she was allowed to contact directly with the sponsor. What happened then was sad. She started asking for vacation money, and even went on a vacation with her friend. She was given money for Dashain and some money was sent to another girl who was also sponsored by the friend of this sponsor. She never gave that money, and she started getting a huge ego. like there was no one who was talented like her. she even started talking unappreciatively to the sponsor. So, one day, I got a call from the sponsor to be informed that no more sponsorship for that girl. Had the girl been responsible and respectful, her future was all set, but now she is pinching penny and looking for work and hoping to get a scholarship for MBBS, or something like that.
