Go with the flow, couldn't stop the adventure of yours , mesmerized with yr captivating words, the reality of youngsters and mid life crisis people depicted in modern Nepal are so true, the family bonding, the friends reunion and Naatedar ko kuro, and the final alvida with promises, that's so so so similar for/about a guy or gal who have left Nepal and come to a different world and different culture in the modern setup. Hats off boss, worth reading yor travelventure after 15 years. I thought myself somewhere in your place dude.

behoove_me, I am officially a fan of your writing dude. So much honesty on your writing and the end part made me little emotional.

Behoove Me you have a very natural style. Tastes authentic. Keep it coming.

We need more talented writers like you promoting Nepal like you have in this story. I highly recommend you send it for publication. This South Asian magazine has produced other Nepali writers work like yourself. It will be a great service for the nation.

The more Nepalese see writers like you published, the more you will inspire the next generation of writers.

Behoove_me,

It’s been a while since I last read such a good piece. It is so rare these days in sajha to find such a well written and thoughtful narrative that most of us living abroad can relate to in some way or other.

“But this time it was different, leaving behind two aging parents who had recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure. Not that I would not see them soon, but I doubt if I’d see them soon enough in my own house in Nepal. I feared  this was the last time I was seeing them, in our courtyard in Jawalakhel.”

There will be a time when we will all have to face this fear. I can notice the extra grey hair on their head, the extra wrinkles on their face, each time I visit my parents. What is no so apparent is their deteriorating health. Sometimes I wonder if I will be spending the rest of my life away from my parents, during the last stages of their lives when they need me the most.

I am glad to know that you still have some good friends to hang out with in Nepal. Unfortunately I do not have this privilege. Most of my friends have moved abroad. The ones that are in Nepal have changed a lot. Each time I meet them, I get a feeling that there is a barrier between us. May be a barrier of jealousy or shame of being the one who could not get out of Nepal. The conversations seem very superficial and I end up doing most of the talking, telling them about my life abroad while they look at me wishing for some downfall from deep down in their heart.

taxy or cab its pretty much necessity in ktm if people want to go from one place to another beleive me i have travelled in nepal yatayat and other buses its so packed chances of getting sit is nil phere pocketmar ko teansion  even here we pay like 50 dollar minimum while travelling in taxy so nomatter how much they charge it is still cheap compared to here . taxy or cab is biggest employer in ktm i think so its okey if they charge few bucks more in fare being the risk they take in riding car  serving people tyape haru le lutla bhanne teansion huncha teneharu lai gajadi haru le taxy ma gaja khai dincha bhanne teansion huncha i still remember while in ktm one taxy driver was hathya garianko thio by one tyape in like khola tera lagera 2-3 ota injection bheteko thio re taxy ori pari  it happened like say 5-6 years before i think and next day taxy driver did protest saying we won't drive taxy .me too while i travelled to ktm spend lot of money in taxy pretty much like 500 bucks each and everytime i travelled because i used to travel a lot like going to budhanilkantha thankot things like that .for me i have solidarity to taxy driver because they got to deal with all kind of people like thug gajadi tyape good guys everybody and provide services.

Intellegentguy, taxi fare being expensive is one issue and being ripped-off by taxi drivers is another. If someone was cheating, and lying to me while selling me a product worth Rs3 at Rs5 , I would sitll feel ripped-off. The matter it not about the amount, it is about the action.

And yes, taxi fares a quite expensive in Nepal. Travelling around kathmandu entire day, you will easlity spend around Rs500-Rs1000 in taxis. Anyway, not only taxi, everything in Kathmandu has become expensive. A cup of espresso is Rs 250. I can get one here in Europe for 1.2 euros i.e Rs 120. A pizza in pizza hut is around Rs 700, i.e $9. You can get one in US for less than that, and it might even taste better. A pair of fake Lee or Levis jeans from Thailand sold in Sherpa mall cost Rs 5000, i.e 50 euros. I can get a Diesel jeans in sale for 60 euros, i.e Rs 6000 here in europe.
My sano buba's fancy 3000 sq.ft house in Budhanilkantha is rented to a foreigner for $2000/month. I can rent a beautiful renovated 17th century chateau in France for less than that.

 behoove_me,
I just wanted to tell you that you are such a gifted writer. I thoroughly enjoyed your narration of nepal visit. Your expressions in this series and avoidance of confrontation in some other threads show that you are a person with rare qualities. My hats off to you!!!

behoove me definately is a genious writer ,
hurray u may be right that kathmandu has become little expensive then 15 years from before now but what do u expect its  kathmandu capital city  of nepal it's meant to be little expensive then other places in nepal that's the reason all the people from country side come to kathmandu so that they get good job and get paid good .
sorry i don't believe that anything in kathmandu has capacity of costing 2000 dollar be it durbar or conference hall in new baneshor its too much money its pretty much like 82*2000 which is like appro 1 lakh 60 thousand something rupees that's lot of money even whole house in kathmandu for a month be it good subidha sampanna house cost like 10-20 thou max .
i agree on one thing though price of land and house is too much high which is ridiculous but it's good for the land and house honors and sucks for buyer  but price of renting is cheap which is cool really really cool .
