need to upgrade my contract. can i keep the data plan for a month and cancel it. i 've got wifi wherever i need to use the internet.

No you cannot....T-mobile won't let you do that....They used to allow cancel data plan before but not these days since really good smart phones started hitting the market..... If you cancel the data plan they will charge you couple of hundred dollars....

Buy HTC HD2 on ebay. You might be able to get it on a good deal. You just have to keep on looking. One of my friend got it for $300. I think its pretty good deal since you dont have to pay for that usless data plan.

just get it from the craiglist man.. its way cheaper.. than the ebay as well. and for your contract ending question, they won't allow you to do that.. 

just check out the phones with the WIFI on it.. so you are good to go.. Don't take DataPlan.. its the waste of money as per my view..

I agree with jai nepal.. the coolest phone i think of is iphone. its depends on the people and their view.. but i really think iphone is so USer friendly.. and other phone i am looking forward into is Samsung Galaxy S
