When the current Constitution of Nepal came into effect, it was infected with Nepali illness that has been making the Nepali community sick for ages. This sickness is “boasting” about things that are unreal. The first thing the politicians proclaimed that it was the best constitution in the world. Then the speaker also asserted it to be a unique constitution. Yes, unique in the way that it was manufactured abroad.. Questions still persist on what criteria they used to make such statements. But what is clear is that, it was all meant to make fools of Nepalis. And fooled we were, royally.

As we are all aware, there was a second amendment of the Constitution last week. The first amendment came just four months after the promulgation. This time it was amended to include the proper map of Nepal that included the disputed territory with India. The question that we should ask now is: If they could not even get the map of Nepal right, then what else are they making false statements about? It should be easy for us to guess, probably everything.

The biggest lie about the constitution is that it was written by Nepalis people, or their representatives, those “sansad” elected by the people for Constituent Assembly.  It was not. It was manufactured abroad and presented to the parliament for ratification. If there had been discussion about the constitution in the parliament, then there would have been some semblance of authority to make that claim, but everything in the constitution was decided by the “prabhu” of these political parties that have agreed to work as their vassal to rule over Nepalis in favor of their sponsors.

The best proof to make this claim is that there is another part of this constitution building that was not considered at all. A big publicity show was made about taking suggestions of the Nepalis for the constitution. So, after having already finalized the real constitution, “sansads” were sent to all areas of Nepal, and meetings were held where people were allowed to offer suggestions. People showed up and participated in these events. I myself attended one such event and listened to the discussion. Suggestions were collected and taken to Kathmandu from all over Nepal.

What happened afterward? Nothing. They were unceremoniously dumped in the trash. Yes, not a single suggestion was incorporated into the constitution. And the most shocking fact was that those things that Nepalis had never thought about were actually incorporated into the constitution. They are the three major changes: secularism, federalism, and republic.  These three were at the directive of the European masters.

Secularism was very important for them because they wanted religious conversion in Nepal, and for that monarchy would have been the biggest obstacle. And by dividing Nepal into seven federal states, it became easier to create division within the borders. There is a laughable state comprising of eight southern districts only, the Pradesh 2, which still does not have an official name.

So, this constitution is not in expectation of Nepalis desiring an inclusive nation. On the contrary, it is the design of those who want to see Nepal disintegrate and cease to exist in the near future. They have already killed the most unique character of Nepal being the only Hindu nation. This is made possible because the current political leaders suffer from an inferiority complex, and can only bow their heads in front of their “prabhu.”  They fight among themselves trying to outdo each other to please anyone who throws some fund their way. That is why even tiny European nations manage to change the course of history in this sacred land.

It is good to see that the truth is coming out and the new generation is rising up in the streets. New leadership seems to be coming forth through social media that gives hope. Nepal's future will be better In the hands of new leadership. The leaders from the past 50 years are outdated and have been exposed to be unconcerned about Nepalis. They have also proved their total incompetence to run the nation.

So, this game of issuing a new map through an amendment is more of the same old game. Nepalis must stop buying that load of manure. What we need is a new system, altogether-the one we can afford, and that works to lift Nepal by creating opportunities right here.
