Hello all, I need to send around 5k to Nepal for an emergency situation, if anyone can help please inbox me. I can give 5 k here in Dallas , Texas and receive from there. I went to Western union and Moneygram but I think they have limit. If you guys have any other alternative, please respond, thanks again

Thank you Bhaktey, never send this much money and never used Bank, always preferred Moneygram and western union for less than 500 dollars. This is a big amount for me and I want to get better rate.
Do you think I can send 5 k from Bank in single transaction ? is it better to send in US dollar or Nepali currency ? I think we might need swift code and account number of the recipient , right ? How long the process might take, I need it sooner. Please let me know if you have more information through bank, thanks again

You might want to look at transfast. They can send $5,000 to Nepal for jut $4.99.

Sending option: Bank a/c.
Receiving options in Nepal: Bank Deposit or Cash Pickup.
Rate for today: 1 USD = 100.38 NPR

Well, have I tried it before? NO

Yes you can wire $5k in one transaction
Send in US currency (not NRS) and will get same exchange rate
takes 2-3 days and costs $45
off course you need recipient account number (you can google the swift code if you know the bank in Nepal)

Transfast will not let you send $5K at first. They will allow you to send $1.5K at first and will take 1 week to transfer. Also, I think they have certain threshold of how much money you can send in a month.
I will use Moneygram and send $2.5k at a time. It will cost you $18 and you can find it easily in any walmart. You will get slightly lower rate than transfast but it is less hectic.
