WE NEED YOUR HELP.

Dear Community,

My name is Vivek Nakarmi, Founder and President of Pentagon Mixed Martial Arts located in Arlington, Virginia.  I was born and raised in Kathmandu, Nepal and moved to this great nation 15 years ago.  I moved here with part of my family with the same intentions most immigrants have, to chase the American dream.  This country has been good to me, and with hard work my family and I are doing well.  Unfortunately, most of my family members, including my two sisters and their families, still live in Nepal.

Since my move to America, I have been an active member of the Washington DC area community, doing everything I can to give back to the community that has given me and my family so much.  Together with the Pentagon MMA family, we organized a number of fundraisers and events for important causes and local non-profits, including physical fitness events at local schools, breast cancer, mental health, and the Arlington Free Clinic.

Today, I and the Pentagon MMA family are reaching out to you all to ask for help.  On April 25th, a violent earthquake measuring 7.9 magnitude struck Nepal, just 48 miles northwest of the capital Kathmandu.  More than 8,000 were killed and nearly 18,000 were injured.  Destructive aftershocks continue to hit the region, including a 7.3 magnitude earthquake.  Countless people are still missing and many invaluable, historic monuments and temples have been destroyed.  The aftershocks continue to destroy and crumble already weakened buildings and homes.  This is the strongest earthquake to hit Nepal in almost a century, and the Nepali people urgently need your help.

I am fortunate to live in this great nation and among the wonderful people of our community.  On behalf of the Pentagon MMA family, I am writing this message to reach out to each and every one of you.  We urgently need your help to make this fundraiser as successful as possible, and the people of Nepal need your help today.  Please donate what you can by hitting the “Donate Now” button below.  Every dollar goes a long way in Nepal.

Pentagon MMA and Project Hope have partnered to organize Fight For Nepal, a fundraising event taking place on June 20th, 2015, to raise funds for the victims of the earthquakes.  Every cent raised during this fundraiser will go to Project Hope, a non-profit organization working hard on the ground in Nepal to provide medical assistance to victims, including doctors, nurses, and medicine.

Join us starting at 9am for a day of fun, family-oriented activities, including a Kids' In-House Tournament, Nepali lunch, a Silent Auction, a Kick-A-Thon, and Self Defense Seminars!  Of course, if you can't make it, you can always choose to make a donation to Project Hope on the "Donate Now" link below.  The only way we can make this event successful is with your help.

To become a sponsor or to volunteer for this event, please contact info@pentagonmma.com.  We'll need everyone to lend a hand as we #FightForNepal!

Remember, all donations to Project Hope are tax deductible.

If you have nothing good to say please don't say anything. People are trying to do anything to help Nepal. Instead of helping them you are talking nevative. Same on you. Your family might be fine but there are many people still need help.

Thank you San dai for posting this event.
