It would have been awesome if I have an ability to hide any topic that would not interest me and never appear on my lists of topics, something like done in facebook. There are some threads which really make me puke and never want to visit the sajha for few days until that gets settled or thrown deep down the list. Its not only me, there are many people who want Sajha to only hold discussions of their like, and this feature would really help everyone.

Is this something that can be done for a user profile? If so, much appreciated.

You don't really need to click the link of the thread,
or do you due to some magical power gets all threads already opened up without clicking a single link on your screen

facebook and discussion board?? is it even comparable.
facebook is all about friends..
discussion board, it's all about strangers....

@bittertruth: not that check box one. I am talking about list of threads that we see in home page or on each topic area. And I am not asking to turn it into facebook and seriously don't want to open any discussion about facebook/forum comparison with you lol :D I would like to hear from San if he understand or feel if the request make any sense.

 Hi Khaire, I have put in something quickly to allow members to ignore users.

If you put your mouse over the username when viewing threads, you will see a new options to "ignore user" 

This will not show you any threads in the homepage that was started by the user or where the last response is by the user.

Even if you do click into a thread where the ignored user has responded, you will not see the response.

This will only work when you are logged in.

I will add this option to chautari soon.

You can unignore the people you have ignored by going to Your menu at bottom and click "my home" to see a list of users you have ignored.

@san : Blocking people is something I do not like, and may be many people here may not like as well. This will just make the thread somewhat broken and in some cases discussions/follow ups make no sense as this does not show up response from blocked person. And in the long run sajha would not be so popular when people starts blocking others and later get bored because they could not just flow with the discussions having most of the people been blocked. So, I think I would not enjoy blocking people. But if I could block thread, then sajha would look like the way I want. This is not for me only, for everyone who often have developed negative thnking about sajha because of all insane posts they would be happy to see that people are mostly discussing only things they like. Just a click to hide the topic is cleaner and easy. I think.
