Hi folks,

I have gone to Thailand some years back (2008). I have made traveler cheque of around 2400 U$$. But, I did not spend this money and now I am back to Nepal with all the amount. Now, I want to go to Europe for study, can I use the same traveler cheque to go Europe?.
As I have already pay taxes for the traveller cheque issued through ministry of education, Nepal.

I need answer from experts or from students as well.

Thanks

Thank you dhhirajojha and maxpayne. Still I am not clear on the bottom line question.

Do immigration of Nepal or anywhere will allow me to carry travellers cheque since it was issued for one country and going so lately to another country? On the passport the bank in Nepal has stamped it already in 2008, now it is already 2011. Can I take the traveler cheque with such old date on the immigration? If they ask me why you issue traveler cheque to one country and going to another country after so long?

While issuing it, I had filled plane ticket number in 2008 in the form given by the bank. But now I am going to another country, it means that my plane ticket will be different and also the country has been changed. Will it affect?

Last question, how much money is allowed to carry maximum by the student as pocket money without taking permission from NRB. I want to take this time U$$ 3000 (TC 2400 + U$$ 600 as cash)
