Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is expected to hold a
press conference today on the tapes which were aired by various TV
channels yesterday which have him making some damaging confessions with
regards to the PLA strength and other issues. This was revealed by
civil society leaders who met him at his official residence in
Baluwatar. The leaders said they asked the PM about the controversial
tapes and the Maoist action against the UML and Nepali Congress cadres
in the districts. On the issue of smooth conduct of CA, PM reportedly
told the leaders that he would be speaking to leaders of political
parties today.  Civil society leaders like
Krishna Pahadi, Devendra Raj Pandey and Khagendra Sangraula among
others were present in the meeting. Maoist sources said that the venue
and time of the press conference had not been decided yet.
