People protest against Maoists at Koteshwor for allegedly killing a local resident
Local people of Koteshwor have protested against the Maoists for allegedly killing a local resident Ram Hari Shrestha who happens to be a cadre of the same party.
The locals came to streets by blocking the road of the area after the Maoists informed the family members that he was killed during an investigation process on charge of stealing Rs. 1.7 million stored in Shrestha's house by their lower level cadres.
However, Shrestha's family members maintained that the Maoist leadership has already admitted to them that some other cadres stole the money.
Describing the turn of events, Shrestha's brother Shyam Kazi said the money was stolen on March 27 and later found under ventilation of toilet in a cloth belonging to Maoist cadre 'Atom' on March 30. But, Maoist Brigade Commander Govinda Baral 'Jibit' abducted Shrestha on April 27 on the same charge and kept him out of touch from family members for several days.
On May 5, Shrestha was allowed to contact his wife Ramila. But, on May 15, when the family members went to Chitwan to bring back Ram, they were informed that Shrestha was dead.
Ramila demanded to make public the whereabouts of her husband and action taken against those responsible for killing him.
Ramila further questioned why her husband was killed even after the Maoist leadership admitted some other Maoist cadres were involved in stealing the money. nepalnews.com ps May 16 08
KATHMANDU, May 16 - Maoists Friday confirmed that the party’s cadres had killed businessman Ram Hari Shrestha, a resident of Koteshwar in the capital a few days back.
The Maoists admitted that Shrestha, who was also the chairman of a local Tole development committee, was killed after being abducted.
Traffic at Koteshwar remained tense this afternoon following the publication of the news.
The Maoists said that Shreshta was abducted from Santimarga in the capital on April 27 and taken to the Maoist third division cantonment at Shaktikhor in Chitwan district and was killed on May 10 and thrown into the Narayani River.
A group of Maoists led by Maoist third division commander Kali Bahadur Magar ‘Bibidh’ had abducted Shrestha from Santimarga on charges of stealing Rs 1.7 million from their room.
Three brigade commanders of the Maoist third division-- Ganga Ram Thapa, Keshab Adhikari and Govinda Batala—were involved in Shrestha’s death, Superintendent of Police at Chitwan District Police Office Puskal Raj Regmi informed.
Another brutality, don't know how many more ppl they'll/have to kill, before they themselves realize that they are monsters and needs to turn themselves into human behaviour, to fit to live in nepali society.
When is this going to end? When are people going to realise that violence brings violence only. How could we all forget so easily what maosits did and are doing killing people be it innocent or not? Doesnot matter if someone is innocent or not its upto law OF THE COUNTRY not the damn group or whatever maosit to end life of people!!

वाईसीएलका ज्यादती हु“दाह“ुदै पनि सात दलीय गठबन्धन निर्वाचन कुनै पनि कारणले नरोक्ने निष्कर्षा पुगेको थियो । चर्को विरोध सामना गर्न माओवादी अध्यक्ष पुष्पकमल दाहाल -प्रचण्ड) ले निर्वाचनअघिको एक साता वाईसीएललाई ँगान्धी बन्ने’ र्सार्वजनिक आह्वान गरेका थिए । ँम्यादी गान्धी’ का रूपमा केही दिन तिनले आफ्ना गतिविधि शिथिल पारेका हुन् । निर्वाचनबाट सबभन्दा ठूलो दल बन्न पुगेका प्रारम्भिक दिनमा उनीहरू विजयोत्सवमा केन्द्रित थिए । नेताहरू जिम्मेवार अभिव्यक्तिसाथ प्रस्तुत हुन थालेका थिए र तिनका युवा कार्यकर्ता पनि त्यसैअनुसार संयमित देखिएका थिए ।
आगामी सरकारको नेतृत्व गर्ने वैधानिक दाबी गरिरहेकै बेला अन्य दलहरूबाट सहकार्यका र्सत प्रस्टरूपमा आउन थालेपछि भने माओवादी विचलित देखिन थालेको छ । वाईसीएललाई एक वर्षा दस लाख युवाको संगठन बनाउने महत्त्वाकांक्षी योजनासाथ विस्तार गर्ने तर अन्य दलहरूको मागअनुसार विघटन नगर्ने रणनीतिमा प्रकट भएका छन् । वाईसीएललाई देशभरि शान्ति सुरक्षाको समानान्तर निकाय बनाउने माओवादी नीति आफैंमा आपत्तिजनक छ । यसले राज्य प्रशासनलाई आफ्नो प्रभावमा राख्ने, जनतालाई बन्दी बनाउने र अन्य दलहरूको अस्तित्व कमजोर पार्दै लग्ने उद्देश्य स्थापित गरिरहेको छ । यस्तो हु“दाहु“दै अन्य दलहरू उसको नेतृत्वको सरकार गठनका लागि सहज हुन सम्भव छैन ।
माओवादी संघीय लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्र र राज्य पर्ुनर्संरचनाका नारासहित गरिब जनताको आशाको केन्द्र र परिवर्तनको प्रभावकारी माध्यम देखिन पुग्नु देशका लागि सकारात्मक राजनीतिक उपलब्धि हो । उसले आफ्ना नीति र व्यवहारमार्फ लोकप्रियता हासिल गर्नु र निर्वाचनबाट अनुमोदित हुन चाहनु स्वागतयोग्य राजनीतिक विकास हो । तर माओवादीले वाईसीएलमा आफ्नो ध्यान र्सवाधिक केन्द्रित गर्दा आफ्ना नीति र जनतामा लोकप्रियताप्रति आफैं विश्वस्त हुन नसकेको र निर्वाचनमा आफ्नो पक्षको जनलहरलाई कृत्रिम उपलब्धिका रूपमा बुझिरहेको देखिएको छ । निर्वाचनपछि ँयथास्थितिवादी’ दलहरूस“गै ँव्यावहारिक रूपमा उग्रवादी’ माओवादी पनि सुध्रिनु आवश्यक भएको अहिलेका घटनाले झन् सावित गरेका छन् ।
वाईसीएलबाट अन्य राजनीतिक दलका कार्यकर्ता, मतदाता, पेसाकर्मी र र्सवसाधारणमाथि कुटपिटको शृंखला बढ्दा माओवादी नेतृत्व भने उल्टै वाईसीएलका ज्यादतीलाई वैधता र राजनीतिक संरक्षण दिन खोजिरहेका छन् । प्रहरी प्रशासन निरीह भएको छ । दर्ुगम विद्यालयका शिक्षकहरूसमेत राजीनामा दिन बाध्य पारिएका छन् । त्यसभन्दा चिन्ताको विषय वाईसीएलबाट पीडित व्यक्तिहरू बोल्न डराइरहेका छन् । उजुरी प्रहरीकहा“ होइन वाईसीएल कार्यालयमा पर्ने क्रम बढेको छ । सुरक्षाका लागि वाईसीएलमा आश्रति हुनुपर्ने अवस्था सिर्जना हु“दै गएको छ । यसले माओवादीलाई लोकतान्त्रिक होइन अधिनायकवादी दलका रूपमा स्थापित गर्दै लग्नेछ । र त्यसबाट अन्य दललाई होइन माओवादी स्वयंलाई सबभन्दा क्षति पुग्नेछ ।
नया“दिल्ली, जेठ ३ - नेपालका लागि पर्ूवभारतीय राजदूत देव मुखर्जीले वैधानिक प्रक्रियाबाट सत्तामा आएको माओवादीविरुद्ध अमेरिकाले खेल खेलिरहेको भन्दै त्यसप्रति सजक रहन भारत सरकारलाई आग्रह गरेका छन् ।
अर्ब्जर्भर रिर्सच फाउन्डेसनद्वारा शुक्रबार यहा“ आयोजित 'नेपालको बदलि“दो परिस्थिति ः भारतका लागि नीतिगत विकल्प' अन्तक्रिर्यामा उनले नेपालबारे अमेरिकी नीतिको कडा आलोचना गरेका हुन् ।
अमेरिकाले नेपाली माओवादीविरुद्ध षड्यन्त्र जारी राखे चीनबाट आउने सक्ने प्रतिक्रियाले अस्थिरता निम्तिने उनको चेतावनी थियो ।
'माओवादीको वैधानिक प्रशासन नमान्न अमेरिकाले खेल खेलिरहेको छ र भारतले त्यसलाई र्समर्थन गरेको छ भने यसले अस्थिरतातर्फलैजाने छ,' मुखर्जीले भने- 'किनभने तिब्बती शरणार्थीको आन्दोलन र त्यसमा उसको चेतावनीको स्थितिमा चीनबाट आउने सक्ने प्रतिक्रिया बिर्सनु हु“दैन ।'
नेपालको सकारात्मक राजनीतिक विकासप्रति अमेरिकी दृष्टिकोणबाट आउन सक्ने खतराको विश्लेषण गरी उचित कदम चाल्न उनले भारत सरकारलाई आग्रहसमेत गरेका छन् । 'यी परिदृश्यबाट म चिन्तित छु । भारत यस्ता सबै सम्भावनाबाट सचेत रहनर्ुपर्छ,' उनले भने । अमेरिकाले प्रधानमन्त्री गिरिजाप्रसाद कोइरालालाई प्रधानमन्त्री पद नछाड्न दबाब दिएको भन्ने खालका रिपोर्टप्रति संकेत गर्दै मुखर्जीले नेपाली कांग्रेसभित्र समेत त्यस्ता तत्त्व हावी रहेको बताए । 'कांग्रेसभित्रका ती तत्त्वलाई कसले उक्साइरहेको छ -' उनको प्रश्न थियो । प्रधानमन्त्री कोइरालाले सरकारको नेतृत्व नछाड्ने अडान लिए नेपालमा संवैधानिक संकट आउन सक्ने उनले बताए । 'यो जनताको म्यान्डेडविपरीत हुनेछ । त्यसपछि दर्ुइ तिहाइ बहुमतले कोइरालालाई फाल्नुपर्ने हुन्छ । यो कठिन हो,' उनले भने । राजाले जेठ १५ सम्ममा राजदरबार छोड्नु बुद्धिमानी हुने पनि मुखर्जीले बताए ।
