Hi

I have one question if you guys can help me out

I understand the CAP GAP rule but my case is little different. My OPT was going to expire on April 30 but to fill the gap of  'CAP GAP' , I joined the another school (got my new I-20 on March 27). That means my OPT was terminated on March 27 and I filed the H1B on April 1st with the new student status( new I-20). Actully my employer made me do so because there was no such CAP GAP rule at that time. Now I got the receipt no. for the H1B and USCIS also came with new rule of CAP GAP. Now my question is do I have to continue taking classes for the new school till Oct 1st OR can I just stop going to school with the effect of new cap gap rule?

Thank you in advance for your valueable suggesstion.

I guess you will have to. Contact your old school for more detail. Though once you transfer you they are not liable for you, still you can request them making a case for this abnormal situation.
I was under a similar situation, but my OPT expired Apr 20th and I had enough time to cancel my transfer.
