I have a question regarding CPT.

I am planning to do an internship next semester which starts on Jan 3rd. But my intl student advisor says she can't approve me of it because it does not coincide with the school start date (which is Jan 16th). But the problem I have is: if I don't go for the training on Jan 3rd, there's no way I can do the internship.

Is there a solution to this?... pucking advisor says she can't do anything, even when the advisor writes to her...

any way out, guys.. would really appreciate that.

No ur internship date does not need to be the same as ur first day of school. talk tu ur department head to approve ur internship first. If there is other university near urs talk to international director and find out what s/he has to say, and talk to ur director. Just to do inernship u even don't need the CPT. Just approval from ur advisor department head and international director is enough.

do you have an official citation of this, i mean, any school's online link that can explain things...

dept head has approved of it already.. pucking intl. advisor is trying to pick on things.

here's the thing- i will be earning dough too. will that make CPT a requirement?

If your school offer winter semester ( semester between the fall and spring) then you have to register for CPT for that semester too.

Mero ni testai case thio, mero international adviser le yesto suggest garyo ani maile ta du wotai semester ma CPT ko course ma register gare :):)

But you have to pay for both semster

It can be any date. In that way I was in CPT and then OPT.
