Two of my roommates were betting each other.

Amit paul would be voted out. "I will be happy if he loses and I will sponsor a party."

Another friend said, "I don't care about Amit, but Prashant should win the Indian Idol. If he wins I will also sponsor a party."

This was a matter of like 2/3 months before. I don't actually remember the exact time.

We are four living together. Two are hosts and two are beneficiaries of the party!!!!!

We were crossing our fingers and enthusiatically waiting for the day Amit voted out. We wanted Amit to go out of the contest ASAP sothat we would have a party. On the other hand, we were simultanously praying the god for Prashant stepping up the ladder and winning the Indian Idol title so that we would have another party. We didn't want to lose any of those parties. We didn't like to lose the laddoos of either of the hands.

Truely speaking, I was not so much interested in Indian Idol(II) stuff and had hardly seen any episode from beginning to end. However, because of the party stuff, I started feeling connected to it in one way or other. I started paying attention and listening carefully if somebody talked about it. So much so that as soon as I got home from work, I started turning on the laptop and watching the II episode posted on Sony TV till the end of the event. It was not only me, but all of us started thronging around the laptop. Never did we feel hungry, nor thirsty and tired during the time. Days were passing and passing and passing this way.
