Matrika Yadav withdraws resignation
Kantipur Report
KATHMANDU, Aug 3 - Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation Matrika Yadav Friday decided to withdraw his decision to quit the cabinet.
Minister Yadav on Thursday had tendered resignation to Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala through Minister for Information and Communications Krishna Bahadur Mahara citing a lack of cooperation from the government.
Minister Yadav had tendered his resignation through Minister Mahara who is also the parliamentary leader of the CPN-M.
Minister Yadav took back the resignation after holding an extensive deliberation with Maoist Chairman Prachanda Thursday night, said Maoist leader Barsha Man Pun.
According to sources, Minister Mahara had not forwarded the resignation letter to the Prime Minister.
Minsiter Yadav is one of the five ministers in the cabinet representing the CPN-M.
In a strongly-worded resignation letter addressed to the Prime Minister, Yadav, who also heads the Madhes front of the Maoists, had charged that the government was “directly or indirectly helping the anarchists and criminals in Madhes by holding orchestrated talks†with them instead of controlling their activities.
