BJP objects to Prachanda's statement on Nepal-India treaties

By Gopal Khanal

NEW DELHI, Nov 20 - The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), India has objected to Maoist Chairman Prachanda's recent statement on reviewing the 1950 Treaty.
Prachanda during his three-day visit to India had said that some Indo-Nepal treaties should be reviewed, including the 1950 Treaty, in the changed political context.

Objecting to Prachanda's statement, BJP leader VK Malhotra, while speaking on a talk show run by a local television channel Lok Sabha, said that instead of reviewing the treaty, Nepal should be brought closer. However, he did not explain what exactly that meant.

He also said that during the winter session of Parliament, his party would raise the issue on Prachanda's visit and his statements. He said, "Our party will table the treaty issues in a clear way in the upcoming session of Parliament."

Malhotra also said that Prachanda’s statement that 'the Indian Maoists will pave the way on their own' was similar to interfering with India's internal affairs. "Because, the Maoists' activity in India is affecting us and they are being supplied with finance and weapons," Malhotra added.

TELL ME WHAT YOU GUYS THINK. WHY WOULD INDIA BE AGAINST THE 1950 PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP TREATY, AMD WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHEN THIS DUMB ASS MALHOTRA SAYS THAT "that instead of reviewing the treaty, Nepal should be brought closer".

The BJP has its share of nut cases. You need to take what they say with a grain of salt. If you think what VK malhotra said is offensive - try Malkani - he is a loony on the fringe.
