It's amazing how all the hard core desktop democracy fighters have now remained hidden like a dog running with it's tail under its legs.

The democracy that everyone aspired for was a theoretical bonanza. Alas, only if they were able to think in practical terms.

Each day, the Maoists are gaining more momentum. The SPA is only for namesake. Prachanda is calling the shots indirectly for now, and soon it's going to be direct. Each day the rule of the mob is gaining momentum. Nepali citizens are beaten up by mobs. Every day there is robbery. Lots of these incidents go unreported for the fear of backlash. It might have happened to your relative and you wouldn't know about it. You wouldn't know about it until it happens to you.

The failure of law and the increasing migration of Maoist cadres to Kathmandu have turned a pseudo peaceful neighborhood to one where everyone has to constantly live in fear of being targetted by these maoist cadres looting spree.

Townspeople are already thinking of having organized vigils in their neighborhoods. The current lack of law and order calls for these neighborhood watches. The people have already learned that if they want anything done, they have to do it themselves.
