INDIANAPOLIS -- A University of Indianapolis student was fatally shot, and a classmate faces a reckless homicide charge in his death, police said.
Ghamdan Mohammed Abolohom, 23, was shot in the chest about 8 p.m. Sunday and died later at Wishard Memorial Hospital, Indianapolis police said.
Police arrested Subash Chandra Rai, 21, and charged him in Abolohom's death.
Police have not released details of the shooting outside an apartment about a mile from campus on Indianapolis' southeast side. When officers arrived, they found Abolohom lying on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to his chest. They also found another man performing CPR.
Abolohom, who was from Yemen, was a senior with a double major in economics/finance and international business. Rai, a senior from Nepal, is majoring in economics, said school spokeswoman Mary Atteberry.
