Hey Sajha Users,
I have one freind who is studying Nursing (3 years degree) back in Nepal. Her husband is thinking to bring over here and continue her studies in US. But, the problem is that she is already done with her 1st year and started 2nd year sometime back in 2 months. So, if she comes to US in dependent H1b, then she will lose her time. But, in US, they have Accelerated Program for 18 months for those who have got another Bachelor's degree as she has got Bachelor's degree in BBS. So, what would be the better option for her? To finish up the studies over there or come to US and do the Accelerated Program!
Help me out guys! Appreciate it for your help!

okay, if she has a 4 year bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from nepal, she can join the accelerated nursing program (in usa) you are talking about. as far as i know (since my wife's a nurse too), if she just has 3 yrs degree (bachelor's) she will have enrol here for either a 4 yr program or a 2 yrs associate-nursing program to become eligible to sit for an RN exam. however if she has a 3 yr BSN degree from nepal, she will be allowed to sit for RN exam.

I don't understand one point, she had already get the visa or she is going to try for it?I'll suggest, if she can do TOEFL & CGFNS (need to go to India; Banglore, Cochin, Delhi or Mumbai for CGFNS exam) that will help her to come over here, or most of the states ask for the CGFNS to eligible for NCLEX exam.

one needs to have a nepali nursing degree to sit for the above mentioned nursing exams in india. i don't think anyone with a BBS can sit for CGFNS in india (or anywhere for that matter). another vital part for foreign graduates and who clear the RN exam for USA - you need to clear TSE besides TOEFL. unless the requirement is waived or one has a US degree, i've seen many nurses not able to process their green cards on time due to having not cleared TSE.
