Once I won lottery. It was not much, almost a grand. So this guy at 7-eleven from whom I bought the ticket was praising me left and right, saying the minute I walked into his store he knew I was the luckiest guy he has ever met, him being psychic and all, on top of being well versed on vedas and shastras.
Yes, he was from India, kinda looked like Apu too (from Simpsons), with pot belly and thick accent. He even looked at the lines on my palm and said that I will be super rich. Not only rich, I will also be famous. Famous for doing philanthropic work. Lot of good I bring to world, he said. And as a proof, there it was, my lottery ticket which had just won a sum of about thousand bucks. And that, he said, is the start of my wealth acquisition process in massive scale. Since I was in a good mood, I humored him by listening to all his astrological babble.
Just when I was about to head out, he said, shaking his head typical indian style, "sir, can you please autograph one of those $100 bills that you just won and give it to me, I will frame it and worship it at home, since you are of such godly character."
Shoot..... I knew he was trying to scam me. But what the heck, I gave him a dollar with my auto.
