Inspired by the thought-provoking discussion on China ont he other thread, I am now starting a new thread where we can discuss issues pertaining to global political, social or economic events.

For now, I can think of these important issues that we can indulge in:

1. The Middle East (including Iraq and recently held "democratic" elections there), of course!

And, much closer to home:

2. Tibetan issue
3. Bhutanese issue

And, many more!

Ahile no tyam to engage in lengthy write ups, but will do so soon!

Great.. ahile domestic affairs le tauko khayo bro.. kasto bhoot-le khaja khane time ma paryo.. but will be on this thread soon.

Thanks again for starting the thread.

here's my quick comments: The Iraqi elections is nothing but just a face saving mechanism for the US. It also makes it easier for the US to either stay there for long or leave soon, because the installed Iraqi govt. will be "requesting" the US govt. to either stay or leave, and the US being a democratic country, will "respect" the sentiments of teh sovereign govt. of Iraq...

Tibetan Issue: TIbet is a part of China like California is a part of the US.

Bhutanese issues: The BHutanese are 200 times better prepared than us.

ma ni lekhchu.. ahile yo thread lai mathi lyauna matra yo lekhya..
