Accusing Pundit Bhim Nath Parajuli of Patale Khet in western Myagdi district of promoting untouchability in the village, the Maoist rebels expelled him and burnt religious books he owned.

According to reports, the Maoists burnt Hindu scriptures such as Vedas and Puranas.

After driving out Parajuli and his family members out of the village, the Maoists locked his house. Parajuli and his family members are currently living in Chitwan, reports said.

Maoists have said that they would not open his house unless Parajuli returned to the district and contacted them, added reports. nepalnews.com pd Jan 22 05

i don't know which kind of world u come from but extremism is not a solution to any problem.if we let the maoist carry on their extremism like this one day nepal will become what saudi arabia is to the islamic world(place of intolerance,hatered and religious and solical intolerance).educated people like urself should davocate tolerance,dialouge and peaceful solution.not salute the maoist terrosist for doing sth so unacceptable.

May be the guy who was busted by the Maoist was promoting Hindu extremism just like some Islamic Mullahs in Britian compelling British govt. to bust some extermist Mullahs from the mosques of Britain.

Practising untouchability in the name of religion is a shame n shud be denounced...as our constitution clearly states these things too.
Maoist expelled the guy n his families ..not bad .....but does that justify their burning of religious books? ..how could maoist get our applause when they r blocking the roads ..killing teachers ..abducting students...rapes...extortion...bombing public places...forced donations...n what not.

This one incident has nothing to deal with their so called 'janabad' or anything else than their arrogance with guns.They have lost their intellectual ground far before, n this a pure result out of it.

This is what educated people like us shud understand, we shud be able to differentiate whats logic n whats violence.
