The Nepal Army vs The Jholeys!

It seems that our Old School Jholeys (OSJ) are getting scared with the fast and furious swinging by the Balen government, that they now have another target on their radar to whine about, since they will not have much to do in the coming five years till the next election.

Nepal Army is getting some flak from the local level Mayors and ward chairpersons affiliated with the old political parties and of course, our old school media as well for asking for details of squatters in illegal settlements across the country.

It could be for national security reasons as we have lots of illegal Bangladeshis and even refugees from Myanmar living in these illegal settlements. But no, the old guards are scared because if all details become public, then we will all know that the majority of the illegal settlers were old school jholeys who had used the land to make money by renting it out to the real squatters!

Those who have bled this country dry in the past are now questioning the Nepal Army and the government for seeking details of the so-called squatters. With due respect to our Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force (APF), but if it weren't for the Nepal Army then Oli, Prachanda and even Deuba would have faced more trouble the day after the young school kids were massacred by those in power last September.

In the past three decades and more of mili-juli sarkaars, Nepal Army has been the only institution that could not be fully controlled or politicized, if that is the correct word, by our old school political parties.

Prachanda tried it back then when he got to live in Baluwatar, and instead resigned like a juvenile delinquent when he could not fire the Army Chief and replace him with someone who could do his bidding.

He thought that once he had the Army under his arms, he could be the eternal leader of the Prachanda-land like some guy in North Korea. Well, it was President Yadav and some pressure from across the border as well that prevented the Nepal Army from becoming just another private security tool for those in power.

The three old parties, Nepali Congress, UML, and the Maoist (CUM), tried to break the Army's morale and integrity by questioning its decision not to fire at protesters in Singha Durbar, the President's House (Yes, that's what it is called!), Baluwatar, or other government buildings.

The jholeys think Nepal Army failed to do its job, but what can the Green folks do when the President doesn't use his powers to mobilize the Army in due time to control the chaos? Would it be better for the Nepal Army to kill thousands of protesters and take the blame while the same old political parties continued to violate our rights to freedom of speech and assembly and our right to exist as human beings?

It was after the President (the Commander-in-Chief of the Nepal Army) decided to give the orders that we had some normalcy, and we did not see much violence. And we all know that 90% of the politicians' houses burned down then were not by Gen Z protesters but from the other political parties' jholeys! We all know what happened then but it seems our old school media just don't want to publish the facts because they have all been part of the same old corrupt system.

We have to understand that, unlike in Pakistan or Bangladesh or other neighboring countries, our Army folks did not want to seize power and bring military rule to our land. They wanted to abide by the constitution and let the people or those in power then sort it out, and we did have an interim government to hold the elections.

We had our election, and we had our winner and sore losers. The old school media are scared of the new government. We know that sooner or later, all the tax evasion and extortion and other rackets by our so-called media wallahs will come to light and they too will face the music.

Nepal Army is probably the only institution that most of us, except the 3 million Jholeys criminals and their illegal Dads out of 30 million law-abiding hardworking citizens, respect the most, while we still find the police wallahs a little funny and the judiciary corrupt as well, filled with political appointees and chamchas of old school parties.

I think our CUM jholeys do realize that the game is over for them. If they really want to form another mili-juli lootera sarkar then waiting till 2031 for Mao or Lenin or Stalin or BP's sake! Till then, shut the funny up and let the Balen government do its thing. If you don't like it, then win the hearts and minds of the people and get that majority and do your shameless loot-tantra nataks in five years.

We are fortunate that our men and women in the armed forces are not power-hungry and do not want to bring a military junta like in Myanmar or other African nations. Yes, there are many things we need to reform in our Army as well but when there was chaos and the country was about to turn into a battlefield, the Army stepped in and made us feel safe and protected us all, even the corrupt ones who ruined this country.

Balen could have been our Prime Minister then. He didn't. The Nepal Army could have seized power then, but they didn't. So, all the old school jholeys who have received free grants and jobs in the past... stop whining, yes, free lunch is over now and get a real job! All the old media wallahs who received a piece of the annual Rs 300 crore government advertisements in the past and no longer do, please stop whining as well. Do your journo work, free and fair, without extorting shady byaparis or receiving chiya kharcha from Foreign Embassies!

If you really want to question anyone, then question yourself. Why on Earth did you not question the governments of the past when they were busy extorting everyone from byaparis, to even civil servants for promotions and postings and made billions from millions of young ones who flew abroad for better employment opportunities by extorting them at each service point from the labor department to the TIA immigration desks!

This isn't 1991 or 2006... the year is 2026 and Nepal Army stands for a stable government, a good government that wants to work for the people and not rip off the people! If our old school politicians and their jholeys had their way, we would not even exist as a sovereign nation. They have no morals. They have destroyed the nation but their time is over. It will be better for them to realize that we don't want them in our lives. And taking on the Nepal Army could be the final nail in the coffin!
