Hello Sajha friends,

I am on OPT right now which ends in July 2019. I am working as a contractor for a client and my employer is ready to file for H1 in April 2019. I asked my client to see if they can provide me a client letter but they are saying its against their company policy to provide those letters. And now my employer is saying that without client letter they will not file for my H1 because time has changed and without client letter it will be hard for H1 to get approved.

Do you guys have any suggestions on how to proceed?

You have a limited choice in this scenario then. Probably the alternative may be to provide-
a. SOW (Statement of Work)
b. Billing invoice
c. An email from client stating that the client does not provide the letter.
d. Vendor Letter
d. Client site badge.
e. Client Time Sheet

Are you the only one contractor working there? Ask your vendor to talk with HR for letter. Manager might not know all these things.

Vendor letter, bades, timesheets will not cut it. USCIS is very specific about those letters and you HAVE to get it. Do not go to HR. Talk to your manager whom you have a good working relationship and ask him politely about the letter to sign it. HR is not your friend and most probably will not give you any kind of letter as they are highly protective.
