Mero green card cha tara nepali passport is expired and is not MPR aswell. I am a Nurse with 4 years of epxrience in emergency. Can i go to nepal and help? WIll i be hassled when i return? Thanks

I dont think you will have any problem to return as you have green card. You can go to Nepal with old passport (it may need to be valid).

It is expired. Can i still go and come back even it is expired? has usa made some kind of waive ? can i make travel document? how long does it take for travel document. Ifeel very helpless not being able to do anything evoun though Im a nurse.

Contact the Nepalese Embassy in USA. They might be able to provide you a Temporary Passport or a Travel Document. Goodluck

They said they have enough doctors and nurses and caregivers or volunteers. They were asking for the neurosurgeons and more orthopedics. I heard, even some of the experts on disaster relief are struggling to get to right places. Patriotism is one thing, but insanity is another. You could be burden to the people over there now. If you really want to help, wait couple months. I am sure help is needed for years and years to come. Or donate your flight ticket and travelling cost to some local charity that can help to feed a village for weeks. If you have million dollars and can organize a relief team then go, its too late. Else, don't go there for now to be a burden over there if your motive is to help and rescue to those affected.

If you only asking whether you can travel with expired passport., then, the answer is YOU CANNOT. Expired identification is not valid of anything except for renewal.

You should have been fairly knowledgeable about what the travel document is when you went through long process of immigration. Travel document comprehends the visa and not the passport. For international travel you need a Passport for sure and visa(or some kind of travel document) depending on destination country laws/rules. Last edited: 28-Apr-15 04:10 PM
