Just because ur name has lady....telling what happened will just be a guess, but what u need to do is use ur relative back home, and chase your application, where is seperate dept within passport dept, which takes care of passport application coming from abroad, someone need to go there and have sweet talk to dig your application. And remember they have huge load these days.

5 months is definitely a rare case. The best is to call Dept of Passport in Nepal again and again till you get someone to talk to. The embassy will have no idea if they in fact haven't received back your passport from Nepal. Did you call at Dept of passport number directly or to ministry of foreign affairs? Phone number of dept. of passport is 4416011,4416012 (Enquiry), 4220108 (MISSION).

While we are in this thread.. I am planning to send in my passport soon as well.. Can someone give link or things needed to be send to DC.. and process please.. if someone has done it.. and MRP ko lagi application bharda should we type in or hand write the application ???

Also, don't take picture anywhere else. They might reject it. Take it from the Embassy photo close to the Embassy.

Badhijanne le guff diyo.. Any picture taken in US size will work. I took it at wall greens and sent that. I guess i am lucky. Even after sending the photocopy of ctizenship i got my passport in 2.5 mnths. Sent on october 24 2014, received on January 14th 20155.

Yup, type garepani hand write gare pani no problem as long as the form is correctly filled as indicated in the sample. Photo jaha khichepani hunchha as long as it is clear, boarder-less, color and on white background. Any photo shops or pharmacy store/walmart know how to make such passport photos. The most important thing to consider is printing on A4 paper and not on letter size paper.

Thanks everyone for suggestion. @ark-yes I am calling that number, once a lady answer and told me to give my name and asked me to call back in 1 hour as she need time to check my info, but after that no one answer ever. I checked online in the dopmofa.gov.np but couldnt find my application, try to email too but non-of there email address is correct .

My MRP status says dispatched in January 05. Its February 08 already. Do they mean dispatched from KTM to DC?
