According to Ayurveda, health is a process and disease is also a process. There is no quick fix in life. In other words, life is a chain reaction.

Body, Mind, & Consciousness all play key role in maintaining the health. Body itself is the mind, and the mind and body is nothing but consciousness! Ayurveda classifies every single individual as a unique personality. The constitution of a person even depends on the mental state of your parents at the time of sex ! These personality is the result of three Doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Khapa. Vata is the air principle, Pitta is the fire principle  and Khapa is earth/water principle. A baby is born with various combination of doshas. All doshas are present in an individual all the time. Based on this, Ayurveda classifies 7 different types of individuals: 1) Vata type 2) Pitta type 3) Kapha type 4) Vata + Pitta type 5) Vata + Kapha type 6) Pitta + Kapha type & 7) Vata + Pitta + Kapha type.

Being healthy does not mean keeping vata, pitta, and Kapha in equal proportion. Instead, it means maintaining the original constitution of the body. In other words, maintaining one's own Prakriti. For example, if a person is a Pitta type, he or she should be aware of types of food to eat and types of food to avoid. For a Vata type person eating dry food in winter season is not a good idea. So, Ayurveda emphasize on awareness. Awareness is key to health. For example, when cell looses it's awareness, it divides in an uncontrollable fashion, and we call it cancer. Each cell has it's own awareness. And this awareness is affected by our overall mental awareness. Cell follows mental command. Therefore, awareness is very important.

Living a healthy life means bringing and maintaining balance in one's life. This includes harmonious relationship with both internal and external environments.

You may have control on internal but not external environments.
We knew the type only: can you elaborate on these too!

@ magorkhe.... Life is a constant play of equilibrium between internal and external environments. This is why Ayurveda emphasize so much on awareness. The human nervous system is not made to suffer but to enjoy this beautiful life. However, due to ignorance people indulge in things that are harmful for them.

External environments cannot be controlled (exception applies). Winter, summer, spring, fall, Monsoon, they have their own time and they come and go. So, don't try to control these natural weather! Let there be snow! Let there be rain, and let there be scorching hot summer day. What you can do is bring awareness of the relationship between internal and external environment. In other words, take care of your internal environment by observing external environment. For example, during winter take extra care to preserve the body heat. Drink some spicy soup. Winter can be depressing because it is damp and cloudy. Considering this, be prepared and do light exercise, do some pranayama which revitalize the mind.

So, it's not about controlling the external environments. Rather, observing it and bringing a harmonious relationship between internal and external milieu through the help of our own inner intelligence. Your body constantky gives clue to you wether things are balance or unbalance within. Alll you need to do is be aware of this clue and implement a technique of Ayurveda: Opposite heals, meaning if you have cold, eat those food that brings fire in your body. Lastly, living is an art and this requires constant vigilance on your part.
