Did you try contacting either? If it's dealers, they're just trying to lure you into visiting them in person. That way, they'll find a way of selling you a car and more often than not, people actually fall for it.

If it's listed by owners, chances are, they're either trying to sell their cars in desperation or they're (most likely to turn out to be) scammers. I've heard of a few people getting lucky by purchasing cars via CL (one Cambodian guy needed to sell his car for cash due to family issues).

In any case, take a step with caution, especially for cars listed by owners. Try to get a clarification about the forms of payment they seek.

IF WESTERN UNION, MONEYGRAM ETC ARE INVOLVED, NOTIFY COPS IMMEDIATELY.

thanks riddle for your insight, i have been burnt once. They say, "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me". So, being extra cautious this time. i did find a 2012 civic , 11k miles for 17k. its a local dealership by my house. they are pretty reputable so going to go check tomorrow.

Yeah. Go check 'em out. Another word of advice, don't forget the make, model and advertised price tag when you go there. More often than not, people tend to end up driving back by agreeing to pay the advertised price (as opposed to agreeing to purchase it for lesser price). You're more than likely to find a difference in the advertised price and listed price in the lot.
