A silver sedan seen speeding on Cortland Street before deadly crash
BERNAL HEIGHTS, CA, (October 04, 2025) - A 30-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash early Saturday morning in Bernal Heights, police said.
(GoFundMe)Binod Budhathoki, 30, was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday morning in Bernal Heights, police said.The incident happened shortly after 2 a.m.
A GoFundMe campaign started on Oct. 4 by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) California identified the victim as Binod Budhathoki. According to the post, Binod was on the way home from celebrating a religious festival when he was struck by a vehicle at Cortland and Anderson streets. Tragically, he died from injuries.
Binod is survived by his 8-year-old daughter.
Surveillance footage from the area showed a silver sedan speeding down Cortland Street prior to the crash.
This is an ongoing investigation.
CRASH INVESTIGATION NEEDED
California law clearly says that fleeing the scene of a crash is a crime. Still, some drivers choose to drive off, jeopardizing the lives of victims.
