yep, park your money in nepal at some good bank like nabil or Standard Chartered bank that are giving 10% more on fixed deposit for a year or two. investing on Nepal treasury is also not a bad idea. in the end, you'll most likely have a ROI of 25%

plus, USD/NPR exchange rate is also very attactive.

there is too much volatility in the US. now a days nothing is safe. that is no stocks, bonds, foreign exchange, precious metals such as gold, silver. or any other commodities such as copper or different crops. everything is moving based on the speculation. to put your money in something, you need to have a prospective that something will happen in future.

for me, everything depends on unemployment rate, goverment spending and GDP deficit and Euro crisis. Considering all these problems, i think it is safe to put money on a fixed deposit that will give more than 10%.

I thnk investing in FDs in Nepal is a great idea for the short term when you are more certain about the currency trends, but I think if one is to lock up their money in FDs for the longer haul, you will need to do more research on currency trends and speculate on it; especially given the chaos around forex. Again, like someone asked above ....it all depends on long term or short term.
