Hi everybody, I am in a pretty tough situation and need some suggestion on what to do with my H1b situation. Please provide suggestions on what I should do. Here is my current situation: I am currently working on H1b 3rd year. I just came back from H1b stamping and have 2 years of H1b visa left. My current employer when I joined them last year had told me that they would try to sponsor my greencard this year. However, now they are telling me that they might not be able to sponsor me because my work performance has just been average. I was also treated unfairly in the yearly review process as they mentioned instances which apparently contributed to me not getting a bad review which I feel most of them were untrue. I am having a difficulty seeing myself having any kind of future at this current company and the current position that I hold. Also, this field that I work is not IT so it is difficult to find employers that are willing to sponsor H1b transfer. I have looked quite a bit and am not being successful at all. I want to leave this job as soon as possible and most likely either go to school or maybe try a different field. I was thinking about going into IT through the consultancy route. Can you guys suggest how long does it take to go through the whole IT consultancy process and get a placement through there? And do they generally transfer H1b visas? If they do, how long do they take to transfer H1b visa? Please provide suggestions guys, I am in a very difficult situation currently . Thank you

H1 visas are not transferred, it's a whole new petition. The only difference is that you don't need to be in a lottery again. Depending on you skills, 3-6 months average time. If your degree is non-stem it's even harder.
