"Kiran Lamichhane of Columbia was walking along the edge of the road in the 7200 block of ABC Lane at about 12:32 p.m. Friday when he was struck by a 2005 Hyundai Sonata driven by 56-year-old Ralph Ringer Jr. of Fulton, Columbia police Officer Scott Wilson said in a news release. Lamichhane was walking westbound at the time of the crash; the vehicle also was headed westbound. Wilson said alcohol was a contributing factor on the part of Ringer; he was not injured. There were no passengers in the vehicle." As a precaution, while walking on the road/sidewalk always remember to walk against the traffic i.e., that traffic should face towards you not the other way around. Thoughts and prayers to the family.
