CANDLELIGHT VISIL FOR THE FAMILIES OF NEPALESE VICTIMS IN IRAQ
When: Coming Sunday, Sept 19, 2004 at 3:00pm
Location: 3rd St. Promenade Walkway in front Borders bookstore in Santa Monica
Parking: You may park at Santa Monica Mall (3 hours free parking) and walk to the Promenade. There are several paying parking sites around the Promenade.
Recently, 12 innocent Nepalese in Iraq were brutally murdered by the Iraqi militants. We, the Nepalese community residing in Southern California, mourn the tragic death of these innocent Nepalese in Iraq and would like to express our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the victims. We would like to extend our support to the innocent victims and their families whose painful experience cannot be described in any words. We strongly condemn this horrendous act, which could have only been carried out by someone other than humans.
We sincerely encourage you to participate in this gathering to show our support and respect to the victims and their families. You may bring candles and flowers. Please respond to this e-mail or call me at 626.914.1493 by tomorrow if you are planning on attending or have any questions regarding the meeting because Santa Monica City requires a permit if the group will be more than 150 people.
We are joining our helping hands with Nepal Association of Northern California (NANC) who has initiated a fund raising campaign to help the immediate family members of the deceased. While we understand that monetary assistance will definitely not heal the hurt and their wounded souls but it will help them in other ways.
NANC guarantees that all the funds received will be directly distributed among the immediate families of the deceased.
