America-Nepal Women's Association will be participating in Walk for Nepal on April 14, 2013. America-Nepal Women’s Association of Greater Washington, D.C. USA is going to represent “Children Protection Home” that was established in 1998. Our main objective is to give social, emotional and moral protection to those children brought in from various jails, referred by the District Police Office, and local wards. The Home is currently being run through generous donations provided by general public and some other organizations. At present, there are about 74 children of various age groups from newly born to the teenagers. Among them, 12 are studying in higher secondary level, 17 are in lower secondary level, and 39 are in primary level. The remaining children are in baby care. With the best of our available resources, ability, and generous support, so far we have been able to provide them a basic necessities of life such as meal, shelter, clothes, health care service, moral/emotional support and the most importantly education.
