What a dilemma and what a misery? Peace Process falters in Nepal, the solution to which lay right in New Delhi.
Yet some analysts see logic in that they believe that Nepal’s peace was essentially disturbed by New Delhi itself and hence the solution must lay in New Delhi-the former East India Colony.
It is still unknown whether Nepal’s political leaders are deliberately trying hard to expose the New Delhi regime or it is indeed India that is obstructing the restoration of peace in Nepal?
Interestingly, the Annapurna Post reports today October 14, 2011, that the primary agenda of presumably India-made Prime Minister of Nepal, Baburam, is to seek India’s support to bring positive end to the peace process in Nepal.
“It is becoming wide and clear now that primary objective for New Delhi was to force Nepal’s subservient political parties to sign the most anti-national 12 point agreement to elevate Baburam Bhattarai ultimately as the prime minister of the 12 point Republic. This also makes it clear that the peace process is not on the right track simply because India does not want it to be in place,” claim critics. Increasing embarrassment! More remain in the pipeline.
Report quotes high placed foreign ministry official as saying that Baburam will request India’s corruption ridden regime to play an important role once again in bringing peace process to the desired end in Nepal. Anna Hazare could be the best choice!
Prime Minister Bhattarai’s political aide Devendra Poudel confirms, “Prime Minster Bhattarai will convey it to the Indian leadership that Nepal now needs further cooperation and goodwill from India in Nepal’s peace process.” Open invitation for interference!
Why not also China and other countries, for example, the EU and the US? Attention China!
To recall, September 25, 2011, the unpredictable chief of largest party in the Constituent Assembly, Unified Maoists, and the so-called ferocious Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ addressing a program had also requested India for direct intervention in Nepali politics. Dahal had begged for Indian support in presence of Indian Ambassador Jayant Prasad. Lendups Galore! Ambassador Prasad had reasons to smile for this grand invitation.
Prime Minister Baburam is scheduled to embark on a state visit to India October 20, 2011.
“During the state visit we will request India to extend its support for the logical conclusion to the peace process,” also said foreign minister Narayan Kaji ‘Prakash’.
Shrestha adds, “The trip is a goodwill one. No agreements and treaties will be signed.”
The foreign ministry source adds in a disgraceful manner, “India will be requested to play similar role it had played while signing the 12 Points agreement that eventually brought the Maoists to join the mainstream Nepali politics.”
Prime Minister Baburam who is an architectural engineer by profession is said to be one of the main architects of the humiliating 12 point agreement.
The 12 point ghost will continue to terrify the Nepali population until end of Nepal’s history.
The Annapurna Post further writes, “India has on the other hand taken Baburam’s India trip in a light manner.”
Further writes Annapurna post, “Indian Embassy officials in Kathmandu and Foreign Ministry officials of Nepal are yet to hold a discussion on Bhattarai’s impending visit to India.”
Ghar ki Murgi Dal Barabar.
Prolific writer Dhurba Kumar in his article for Kantipur National Daily today, October 14, 2011, quotes Rajiv Sikri- a former Indian diplomat posted in Kathmandu as saying “For India, Nepal is no more than Ghar Ki Murgi Dal Barabar (Local Chicken in the Dining Table).”
Sikri wrote so in his 2009 book ‘Challenges and Strategies’. This perhaps speaks of Nepal prestige in New Delhi.
