 How much Money is allowed to take to Nepal

Does anyone know how much money is allowed to carry while visiting Nepal, as Cash and/or as traveller's check?  thanks

I think you can take as much as you want, but you have to declare anything above $10,000 assuming you are taking dollars...

You have to declare anything over 10000 here. But for Nepal if you have anything over 2000 , you have to declare that in Nepal.

As long as source of income is proved, you are good to take any amount over $10,000 with declared.

I would not suggest traveling with large sums of cash. It is usually perceived as illegal even by the authorities.
Travelers Check is the best way to travel with money if you prefer that.
Even better, you can directly deposit the dollars in any bank in Nepal, there is no limit on how much you can transfer, it takes 25 days to clear the check.
