Hello All,
What did you guys expected to happen after the new Janatantra??? ..Well....I am not a political science major or anyone interested that much in politics...However, as a normal Nepalese, I was pretty much optimistic that finally Nepal will change. I thought finally people realized that now it is a time to unite together, and only focus on moving forward. However, its already been some time now, and we still have political parties fighting with each other for the power (seats).
Also, what do you guys think about this new concept of including minorities (Dalit, Madhesi, Maoist...) in all positions?
I have got one example. Lets say that this guy who worked his ass off for the betterment of the society, and only did right all the time for 25 years. He has earned himself a position of Assistant Secretary (1st Class government officer) in one of the ministries from last 14-15 years. Also, he has been the senior most officer for that whole ministry, and there is virtually no one more experienced and intelligent than him. Everyone thinks that he should have been promoted to a Secretary long time ago. But it never happened as he never gave a damn to any of the politician or political party. So, now he has about 4-5 years remained to retire, but government is planning to promote someone else from the minority as a Secretary, who is probably 6-7 years junior, and pretty much inexperienced as the previous guy.
So, Do you think it is fair? I understand the concept of bringing minorities to the front. However, do you think it is going to do any good for the department as a whole? Isn't it like slapping the previous guy's face, for doing all those hard works without any greed? Everyone knows that there is an experienced and well-qualified person, who for sure can lead the department towards the development. However, just because of being minority, now they have to promote the other guy?? Is this a fair game? Do you think the guy should keep his job until he retires under someone inexperienced who just got their because of law, not because of his qualifications??? I am sure if I was him, I would quit, would you guys not do the same too??? Are not the politicains just thinking about saving their ass, and not give a rat's ass about the betterment of country??? What good did they bring to the country with all that Revolution bullshit? ...All of them are just fighting to get their people in power.......Sigh! ...What do you guys think?
