(2) Saturday, 18 November 2006 (Nepal Federation of Indigenous Nationalities: http://www.nefin.org.np)

NEFIN handed over memorandum with 15 point demands to the major political parties to express deep concern of Indigenous Peoples of Nepal at the recent peace agreement reached between the Seven Political Parties and CPN (Maoist) for failing to address issues of the indigenous communities.
NEFIN alleged that the agreement has neglected spirit of the community and their role during popular movement II. NEFIN has said that the political parties ignored call of indigenous peoples for establishment of a federal republic with ethnic guarantee of self-determination, inclusive state mechanism, proportional representation in the constituent assembly and restructuring of the state.

The Federal Council meeting of NEFIN, held on November 14, has also set series of protest programmes across Nepal to show dissatisfaction of indigenous communities at the agreement.
