Good photography, but the guys and gals feautred there seem to me just plain ordinary people without any outstanding attributes which might have made them "hot"

Does not matter it is not on digital or not, whats mattters is the if the setting is appropriate for good outcome. I am sure there is no film user photographer in the world who can do magic when the lighting condition sux. U you cannot just overlook abiity of the digital camera user.

In fact all the rules of photography apply to both film and digital cameras. It's the medium (film or digital) that makes some difference (at least for now). When it comes to convenience, now digital cameras outstrip film in almost every ways. Even the less expensive digital can put out images that are far more shaper than the sharpest images from best films in industry. There are some areas where it will take several years for digital camera to perfect the technology to beat the film. When rendering highlight areas (the brightest spots of a scene) digital cameras do very crappy job. This is not a problem when using film. This the reason why hollywood still shoots on film. High end commercial are still shot on film. For large format photography (ie..for commercials etc) there is very limited option but to use film. Film is future proof whereas digial is not. The best thing is that I have decided to go digital.

The way our eyes (retina), an slr/film camera (film) and digital camera (ccd) see are totally different from each other. It all depends on what purpose you are using them (cameras) for. If you are into landscape photographer who likes to take pictures of various natural effects, i'd go with film, for most other purposes i'd go with digital, just because it is too cheap to produce results.

I have already responded to a similar comment from someone else (see the posts above). It's mostly an overstatement with a humor....
