I have a very urgent question regarding STEM extension. I graduated with a Masters in Architecture degree, but right now I am working as an analyst through an agency. The agency won't sponser H1B for me since it's an American company, but I am looking for alternative routes to extend my OPT so that I can eventually find my architecture dream job. Anyone have any suggestions? I would highly appreciate it!!Thanks!!

Concerns/Suggestion:
- Whats your current Status ? ( I suppose its OPT).
- For non-IT degree ( MS in Arch Design in your case): I dont think there is an extension for OPT. You only have 1 year of regular OPT. You have to have a H1B after that.
- Other options: Apply for a college , get a CPT and continue your work. Be procative while applying for these kind of colleges. You need to get a first hand of information from corresponding college regarding the CPT and its associated process. There are definitely such college around.
I think the best bet would be to apply for a H1B. Negotaite w/ your agency and apply for it on April 1st.

Thank you! I appreciate your valuable suggestion there. Right now what i am doing is completely unrelated to my field, but i volunteer in a Housing industry in the hopes of landing my job in architecture field. The only reason I want a STEM extension so that I have more time to land a job in my field. The job that I am doing right now is just a job , not a career! I was just looking at possible options since Sajha is always so resourceful. I guess my next bet is just to return to the homeland to pursue what I love doing!
But thank you nevertheless for your valuable suggestions!!

- At least you know what you are doing and have Plan-B as well.
- As per your comments, its' not wrong to depict that: Your "Plan-B" overwighs "Plan-A" or lingering here in USA.
- Don't forget to share your updates accordingly.
