Lately i've been hearing that students who went back to visit after completing their undergrad were not able to renew their visa for the Masters program. Has anyone heard anything on this? I would like to pass this off as a rumor but i'm planning to go back home this summer after i get my I20 from grad school (haven't been back home since i started my undergrad here and completing my OPT soon) so i just wanted to verify grapevine talks. You know our people- hallai hallah ko desh! Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Dhanyabad.

i do have heard a lot about such rumors lately. I am also not sure about the denial of visa back home for the grad student. i dont think it will be a big deal for them to give visa for a grad student. anyways best of luck for you! before you go just make sure abt all the things. Noone can be certain abt these things and all in all american embassy is unpredictable.

I am alos planning to go nepal . . my visa had already expired .. m gonnna graduate in coming winter . . so i thought it would be more goood to go nepal and get visa before the completion of undergrad ... cause with no means they can stop to graduate .. . and i think the new rule .. as you can take graduate course stilll on undergrad . that might help more for the people like me where they would be forced to give visa till the end of master instead of giving till the time of completion of undergrad .. .

Hey BASH are you saying that if you are graduating soon, they will renew your visa just like that?? What i think is , you cannot be 100% of sure when it comes to visa councellors. Normally for students, visa is given for up to 3 to 5 years. Within this time period, if you are serious enough and have a strong financial condition, its enough time to graduate. So you should have some strong reason why you didnt graduate by now. Think before taking any steps so that you wont regrate it for the rest of your life. In times like this its important to graduate and get a decent job than to take any riskey decissons. You have nothing to loose here. Just my thought ;-)

Ok my problem was that my college split 1 semester into 2 parts starting with my batch ,making me behind graduation. I wish i could just take those courses however i like but its step wise and without a particular semester you can't move on to the next. Well thats my reason and i have never failed any classes whatsoever.
