One of my friends is looking for a girl for his son. He has a grown up son (26 years). The son grew up in US all the way from elementary school.

They are US Citizens. He wants to get his son married with a girl from Nepal. No caste barrier, not wealth barrier but education (at least undergraduate degree) is important.
The guy has undergraduate degree and working in IT. He can speak Nepali not bad.

Any suggestions or advice from you matured people?

Your friend's son (someone who barely speaks Nepali) may be too Americanized for an innocent Nepali girl from Nepal who has no idea how nasty this world is. But the question is what does his son want? Just because his father wants him to marry a Nepali girl doesn't mean that he may agree with that idea. But you will always find desperate Nepali women who will just marry anybody including handicaps to get the green card. Some people have been posting a Nepali dating site lately called http://www.hamromilan.com. Why don't you have them try that?

P.S. Have you watched that dhoti movie called Pardes? I hope his son is not an A-hole like that NRI guy in that movie.

Advise:
Match making will not work for Boys and girls who came to US and adopted the culture.
Do not force him on Match Making, no matter how much he knows the Nepali culture. Let him find his own bride according to his culture and will be happy with it ( I have seen people form west and east Nepal carry different culture and not having a happy life )

On a separate note. I have a friend who have not found a guy, either to date or to marry, for a long time here in US (East Coast). Probably, because of her limited network with Nepali community. I also have an SLC batch mate (so he is a bit old now) who is still unmarried. Now with 2 examples from my own circle, I would be hard pressed to conclude that there is no successful dating platform available for Nepali youths, here in US. As you see I don't need lots of statistics to form stereotypical opinion. Do you have similar opinion? Are sites like hamromilan.com eventually going to catch up? For some reasons, and since I am old school, I thought it would be weird to find a mate in a Nepali dating site. But at the same time, we have plenty of acquaintances who met over Facebook and got together. US geography doesn't help either. I am in Boston and I might like a girl in Charlotte, through a common facebook friend. How does that help. So I don't know. Probably an irrelevant topic as OT mentioned.
