Bears sit at restaurant table

Hungry bears turned the tables on diners in Romania when they walked into a restaurant and sat at the tables.

The 25 stone brown bear and her two cubs tucked in as terrified customers left their meals behind as they fled.

Then the three bears raided the kitchen and began helping themselves to more food in the diner at Sinaia.

"It was like Goldilocks and the three bears in reverse," said frightened customer Flaviu Lazar. "But this time they wanted the whole menu, not just porridge."

The hungry animals left before police and local wildlife authorities could track them down.

Lazar said: "We are used to bears sometimes coming into the town at night from the nearby forests as they look for food left out in bins.

"But no one has ever seen anything like this before. It was a miracle no one was hurt."

Captain: ha ha ha..! that was the news. In fact I have been hearing news about Bears getting wild in cities for a while now. Last week a local news channel showed a news about a bear entering one house. Luckily no one got injured. Another, I watched in another news... I think it was in somewhere in Mexico! ---- By the way, hows weather there? Good to see the mercury level in MA, PA, NY rising higher than Florida. I mean, we wanted The Change, right? :P

Cat adopts rat

A pet cat in China has adopted a rat which she is nursing alongside her four kittens.

Sun Shujun, of Yantai City, says the rat has been living with her cat since the kittens were born four weeks ago.

Sun, 81, says that a neighbour came to see the kittens on the day they were born and was amazed to see a rat suckling alongside them.

"At the beginning, I thought I must have seen wrong. So I took a flashlight and had a clear look," said the neighbour.

The rat not only drinks cat's milk, but also plays with its kitten 'brothers and sisters', according to the Qilu Evening Post.

The cat reportedly treats the rat exactly the same as her natural kittens and it has become part of her family.

Sun reckons her maternal instincts must have overwhelmed her predatory instincts to allow her to adopt an animal she would normally see as prey.
