MY COUSIN RECENTLY TOLD ME SHE LOVES ME AND SHE WANTS TO MARRY ME AND BE WITH ME. I HAVE BEEN DYING TO HEAR THAT WORD FOR THE LAST FEW YEARS. . we both been here in US for like 2 years now and we live together. I ALWAYS LIKED HER AND I HAD A PREETY GOOD SENSE THAT SHE LIKES ME TOO. BUT THE PROBLEM HERE IS THAT I WANT TO LET OUR FAMILY KNOW ABOUT OUR RELATION BUT SHE DOESNOT WANNA DO THAT. This is INCEST, a crime, under Nepal's marriage law.
- SEXUAL ACTIVITY BETWEEN CLOSE RELATIVES IS A CRIME IN NEPAL
- IRRESPECTIVE OF THEIR AGE OR CONSENT
Civil Code of Nepal 1963, Chapter of Insect defines it as a heinous crime:
Incest has been defined as
- a crime involving sexual intercourse between persons who are relatives within seven generations. Incest is strictly prohibited in Nepal.
- Marriage within the incest relation except under the customary practice is void. The punishment varies according to the distance of relation between the people involved in incest.
Incest within the following relation is punished as follows:- Having sexual intercourse with mother is punishable with life imprisonment.
- The crime of having sexual intercourse with sister of the same parents or with daughter is punishable with 10 years imprisonment.
- The crime of having sexual intercourse with women in the relation of father's ancestral lineage is punishable with six years imprisonment.
- The crime of sexual intercourse with other women of relation within seven generations of father or mother's ancestral lineage, other than those mentioned above is punishable with an imprisonment of two years.
Incest law can be invoked only when there is intercourse between two people,however mostly, in this kind of offenses it is women who get victimized by the law and society.When a girl filed a case of incest against her uncle, the Supreme Court defined that the Country Code,1963 had repeatedly made a mistake of not including an uncle’s daughter's daughter under the definition of incest. In this situation they could not define the law which had been mistakenly enacted. The law, which was enacted 20 years before and has been amended from time to time, is the basis of the rule of law.Hence, any person outside such criteria is not justifiably considered as an offender. Legal Age to Marry:- Nepal Marriage Act also defines the legal age of marriage with parental
consent as 18 years for boys and 16 years for girls.
- Without parental
consent, these ages are 21 years for boys and 18 years for girls
Minimum age for sexual activity-
The sexual activity under the age of 16 is considered as rape.

</u>dude... if shes ur 1st cuz.. meaning u both have same granddad.. it sucks not only from an ethical or moral perspective, but biologically your kids are going to be weak and possibly suffer from rare diseases (have u watched the movie 'Wrong turn'? its not about incest, but i think some of the 'ghosts' are actually inbred offsprings.. i cud be wrong..)
if shes ur 2nd cuz or lower.. i dunno man.. ethically and morally, itd still be wrong in nepal.. if u guys are just in it for the sex.. just think about later in life the possibility of lunching with her husband or her having to go shopping with your wife..

If you ever want to go to Nepal, don't marry her.Run away from her life.But if you can spend your life with her in US without seeing face of your parents and relatives, do as you wish.But never imagine Nepalese society will tolerate your relation.
Moreover about genetic defect in offspring, it is true there is more probability for defect.(may be 1 in 1000 vs 1 in 2000).But look at Muslims many are healthy even after many generation of in family marriage.
If you have gut, say Damn care nepal and nepali and go ahead if not leave her and marry somebody else.She will understand.

Guys, think clearly.. there is some kind of physical attraction, and that is leading you to this situation.
You guys should split and keep just contact in phone, and slowly everything will be fine. It will be pain initially but time will take care of everything.
