I Love Nepal and the Nepalipan we have.

I love feeing of being home in Nepal. I love the way Nepalese do things, like greet each other, smile, talk, and all the rituals we comonly share that makes Unique Nepalese........FORGET THE HATE, THE UNSTABILITY, THE RACIAL TENSION, ALL THE BAD THINGS, I request you all to forget all the negative and please,PLEASE write down what you love about our Nepal and the way of life. Im writing down about how I felt when I was in 11-12 grade i KTM.......Bunked school almost everyday LOL

           I love the morning tea in the tea shop with a ciggarette and friends. The morning life in Kathmandu......kids rushing to school and guys waiting to see a glimpse of the girl you like in the school bus passing your hangout akhada..mostly a convienent store or a coffeeshop, Going to the bhaiyas hair saloon and making sure you look good and the loud music playing by the bhaiyas and them looking at the mirrors most of the time LOL.The bhaiyas in the saloon always are checking them selves out LOL. Then during lunch.......go to a local restaurant and order appetizer sukuti sadeko with some ciura or aalo chana, or chat and then head home for main LUNCH lol. Tell friends that youll be back soon. Do stuff and watch TV then around three wear your best looking outfit to go outside to the akhada to meetup with friends who are also dressed to look the best because its the time when Girls come out of school and all the school buses that passes the main road...the beautis were in the back of the bus bunched up together..they knew that we were watching LOL ....and were always smiling at us and few who had attitide looked away lol..we teased them a lot, we were a group of atleast 15-20 +++ of us good looking well dresses guys........almost all of us had long hair , leather jackets or overcoats  jeans, Dingo boots, lockets, GNR or metallica t shirts with skulls, scarfs and round Goggles  and red or black scarfs.and bracelets with chain and lots of rings LOL (REMEMBER THOSE DAYS). The girls if you had a girlfriend in the bus threw a letter or a number to call and soon after that rush of looking good and flirting......we used to do a walk aroud the neighborhood and say hi to friends and look tease freinds who had a crush on a girl who house we were walking by and yell out  our friends name while he is like going crazy....OI SALA MAC***** HARU CHUP LAAG BHANE ......no one listens..and soon it could be any ones turn because our neighborhood had girls that most of us had crushes on and eveyone knew so when we walked pass each house .....your name was called out loud and you acted the same way and everyone just laughed ......then we used to head to the play ground and watch other friends play cricket or soccer. Then we stay there untill late and then again head to the main sreets. Thats the time when you are real hungry and the choices are plently. MOMO, SUKUTI, SEKUWA..with some Local Tuat, tongba, chyang , shree or just vodka........talking about Girls, Fights, bands, Music, all hear say things like OI MU*I HIJO ASAN MA JUGGE LAI PATAN KO KETA HARU LE KHUKURI HANYO RE NI.....BHOLI JANU PARCHA PATAN HANNA LAI .........or reason to get drunk.....MALAI REEMA LE DHOKA DIYO YAAR......or TAILE METALLICA KO NAYA ALBUM SUNIS.....DAAMI CHHA YAAR. and many more just random talk and many jokes...and there was always some one in our friends circle that was the target of the joke. and then home for dinner, ANd for the last time run out to the store and get one more churot and supadi and so does many friends........so we ended up hanging out late untill we see the VAN with red light....LOL OI DHIDE AAYO BHAAG.........and almost the same life repeated the nextday and the other. I  was 16 yrs and enjoyed to 181/2 .....  Now Im in the USA and recently when I went back to Nepal 2006. ...THAT LIFE WAS LONG GONE......all friend were either settled or abroad. New faces were standing in the place of our akhada and I later found out those were the small kids running to school with their heavy bags and tumlets( water) and asking you DAI CANDY DINUS NA......now OH DAI CHUROT CHHA????? LOL.........even we were not there the torch had been passed to these kids who now look like HIPHOP ARTISTS wearing their pants down exposing their boxors LOL.  I met some of my friends who were settled and had kids now.....it felt ackward but I felt very leftout and wanted to go back in time but couldnt. It was sad when I learnt some of my friends had died some became addicts and were hardly seen around. But some of them have become real successfull business men, career men, many abroad like me. AND some still struggling hanging out with the kids in the akhadas like they never changed no jobs no money .......FOR MELOL life changed ........JUST 10 yrs man and now just memories.

You are right Prabhat bro I wouldnt change a bit.............Those days were so great and fun to think about. When I meet an old friend ...we have hours of gossip about those times which brings a lot of good memories alive.

and now I understand why my dad and his friends talked and laughed while drinking for hours and hours gossiping about the times when they were young...LOL the torch is still on the relay.

The torch will be on relay..for generations..that's why I  believe kids should definitely learn from their parents and elders but only 60 %..I mean only to some extent...the rest of 40 % they should learn from their own experiences...good and bad...that's what makes them, tougher and learn the hard way as we did...the parents has to just make sure that they are there when things are tough for the kids and give enough love and freedom to the kids so that they trust mom and dad for ANY..I repeat ANY problem..girlfriend/boyfriend..drugs,,fight..ANYTHING...and don't go to their friends or so who will never be better counsellor than the parents. Parents just got to be the best friends of kids...luckily I had such parents. I will make sure my kids trust me and feel free around me at the same time respect me and consider me their best friend all the time when I have them. That's how the torch will be relay.

We would erase the sentence...YAHAAN KHASHI KO MASU PAINCHA.. (outside the butcher shop)..every morning on our way to school and rewrite it by YAHAAN KUKUR KO MASU PAINCHA...almost every single morning. I will never do that again..but man it was fun.

We would put notice on any random house..YO GHAR BIKRI MA CHA..OR YO BUS BIKRI MA CHA.

Those were the days..again Sanjay Shrestha's Maya Meri Maya was at it's peak then..even in Janakpur. BhimTuladhar was also popular then. And there was this singer called something Gorkhali.I forgot his first name....his one song was so good. But CROSSROADS ruled in those days in Janakpur.

 

Those were damn' awesome days. It started with "Kukure Bainsa" and one sided loves, 36 (uncountable), Pop songs, G N' R, Metallica, Baba Segal, Hindi movies, English Movies, STAR TV, Z TV, MTV, love letters, bicycle and uncle's RX bike, Beer-whiskey-local tharra, mo:mo, chowmein and Chayang in local bhatti pasal, Godawari, P, N, Cenol, Proxy and other formulas, cigrattes and grass, pashupati (baba ji jaya hosh), Banglamukhi, Guitar, Jeans, Gangs, Khukuri, Gangfights (jahile ni keti ko barema), aama ko paisa jahele ni gayeb, first job, +2, Elections and so on.

 

LOL bhakte bro..election time was fun as local politicians (  woda adakshya) used to gather all the local boys like us and feed us with nonstop Beer, L.tuat ,good rakshi, restaurant food from morning to evening and all we had to do was put posters all over the tole and get a cab with a mic and phamplets and posters and walk around in a Julus.....VOTE KEMA  MADAL MA...and when we saw another partys pamphlets and stufff, we would tear and fight and beat them out of our tole..........Man those politicians........poured money on us like endless.........We even used to take chanda (protection hapta) from Garments and shops for our club and go picnic LOL.....NO WONDER WHY NEPAL IS LIKE IT IS NOW......we all know how elections were won those days......and in election day I think I put vote atleast 20 times...and our local canditate did win..LOL and later we were forgotton untill next election......but we went just for the fun and free drinks and food in restaurants.

I m talking about the days when we were 13-17....When we kicked asses..had fights...when we were bad asses..and now we have mellowed down...I don't think it's a crime or offensive or anything that deserves such comments and postings from you to share our thoughts of those days. But ur response kind of puts a bitter taste. But if that's ur choice..u r free to do so. Until u posted ur comment we were chilling.

We r not oldies. We will be oldies when we will be oldies and then we will talk about these days.

I m sure the most age difference between us will be 3-5 years. So why don't u share your experiences..if not..would u be kind enough not to make fun of us here.

i was just kidding too hai. in fact , that maya meri maya song kinda made me nostalgic...i wasn't still in my teen age though when i listened to that song for the first time :P... lots of memories associated with that song tara. :D.

eagles black leather jacket, levi's jeans (bell-bottomed) and dingo boot (hahahaa ..it helped to feel better with the height hoina? :D :P),...passion for long hairs...hanging out in New Road with other folks.. buying cassettes ( remember peacock series? )from Tik n' Tok (only few people used to have CD players back then hahaha)....nirulas, wimpy, nanglo.....

was a die hard fan of GNR, Nirvana (kurt cobain) and Jon Bon Jovi. I still have almost all their Cds/cassettes back in nepal (if my naughty cousins have spared them for me that is haha)

and of course who forgets the first puff ? :P...i had thought I would never ever smoke again .....alas! :D :P

thanks for sharing memories, reminds me of my old days too. I am not as old as you guys but still fall in a same catagory when there was so much culture and when nepal was so much fun. Now a days looks like my brothers back home dont have that experience. They dont do those fun stuff because of the country's situations.

After school, I used to go in a bari (currently tarkari bazar) and play hwagra (marble game). If we didnt win in that hwagra hole, we would piss on it so that nobody will play in it. hehe. I sooo remember playing chungi, rubber band, kitta haha. fun times.. That cock kitta was worth like 1000 shikkar kitta because cock kitta was made out of wood or something was so rare. lol.

Then oh man that shivaratri. We would spend the whole day blocking roads with ropes and collect money. With all that money we would buy alu, prawn and soda and have a feast haha.

Those days are still fresh in my mind. Sometimes I reminissance those memories and feel so happy that I experienced it. Here in America, life just sucks. Where can u do all those stuff.  Looks like things like that doesnt exist in nepal anymore. Now my bros in nepal, all they do is school stuff and cartoon network.

Every once in a while you get a nice thread in sajha like this without any ranting and chatings among each other, or is it just ignorance is bliss? I didnt do many things mentioned by maddog but ya i can relate my and my frens' chores of the yesteryears.

Btw, party shoes came wayyyyyyy after dingo!! dingo was in the time of long hair (spider pump for the ladies), jeans (if not dingo then sport shoes :P)chain. Even gear-wala cycle was so big then :P
where are party shoes was with spiky hair, hip-hop pants no chains and all.
