Prashant Tamang may be the dark horse for Indian Idol 3 as per one of the judges Udit Narayan but we have strong reasons to believe that he is one of the frontrunners for the title.
Looks matter most?
In Indian Idol 1, Amit Sana was believed to be the better singer but Abhijeet Sawant got more votes because of his simple looks and boy next door image. Something similar happened in part 2 as Sandeep Acharya trounced Karunya. A source close to Sony substantiates this finding. “Due to his good looks, he has been getting votes constantly right from the start of the show. And if this continues, he has a great chance of winning the competition. What’s also astonishing is that he is getting almost 60-70% more votes compared to other contestants.â€
EQ (Emotional Quotient)
Prashant’s story is a very touching one. He lost his father very early and hence matured before time. He is already working as a cop and drawing a salary of two thousand per month in Darjeeling. This is another reason why the tide may turn in his favour.
Winning over the judges
Annu Maliek, one of judges who always praises and encourages him, says, “Prashant has worked really hard to get here and I will not be disappointed if he is the next Indian Idol.†Well, here’s another reason to be optimistic for Prashant.
Dream come true
Prashant came to Mumbai with his dream to see celebrities. This came true when he entered Indian Idol 3. And now a victory will only be the icing on the cake.
Please vote for him. Yes, I've seen many posts where Amit's and Emon's fans are begging other fans to unite to defeat Prashant. Please do vote him. I want to vote him billions of times but I cannot. So, please vote for Prashant and save him. Those who have power to vote, please vote for him before it is too late.

Is it just me or any of you guys thought they (Adnan Sami et al) gave our boy the worst and least well known of three songs?
The first one was a very good song by itself with plenty of opportunities to showcase one's vocal strength. The second one is perennial favorite from the movie "Aaradhana". I think anyone, reasonably speaking of course, would've done well with those numbers. But the one they assigned to our Tamang bhai was a mediocre song, composition wise. Don't you think so?
Still, Prashant Tamang did very well. I hope he wins.
Prashant was awesome today.... i really felt for him when he cried.. he was just mindblowing with the second song.. but still mini told at the end saying dont vote for state, race bla bla so as to reduce the votes of Prashant. I think he is going to gain even more votes because of his performance today..
. I felt the same (before Prashant ended the second son) what Javed commented. But the plus point is he has chosen a tough song and his performance based on that was robust, highly adequate and efficient. His get up was the best too.
as anu said, he gave everything today to prove his worth. especially the second song, he sang as if his life depended on it. regardless of what the result may be, i am proud of the fact that he did his 'level best' to showcase his talent today. i am more than ever, proud of this guy. he has every chance to become the idol..that's what i genuinely feel now.
riten, ek ladki bheegi bhagi si..is from an old classic movie and from Kishore kumar--hall of fame album. it's regarded as one of the best songs of all time as far as i know.
not to mention, the second song: 'bheegey hont tere' is one of the MOST difficult songs to be sung...and to choose such song at this stage is in itself a courageous and a commendable call. moreover, the way he sang it, i honestly feel that it should not leave any question to those who believe Prashant is least deserving of the remaining three to win the title. BRAVO!
Being the breadowner of the family since teenage made him strong man but still he cannot stop his emotion when he heared a praise from Anu. I felt so emotional for him. Coming from such a background and rock the stage is very difficult task to do and he did it. He can sing Raag, melody, folk, pop anything. I find him the most versatile singer among 3. I wish I could vote for him.
