You got the first part right. You have to start first to win. The answer is more specific, because you're playing against another person and you need a foolproof strategy to ensure that you win.

I'll let you torture yourself some more : ) and maybe somebody else might wanna give it a try.

The person who places the last coin (when there is no space left anywhere on the table), wins the game.

so be the last person to place the coin (wait everybody to have their coins placed and take a chance to place your coin as soon as you see there is just a single space to place your coin)

and I WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!

but coins over the bigger circle never occupies a complete space on the circle (lets say table)
there will be atleast some space available on the table though not to fit the coin in.

The person who places the last coin (when there is no space left anywhere on the table), wins the game. this might create another confusion because how can you place a coin on the table when there is no space
so be the last one to put the last coin over the heap on the table.

JPT try

you have to put the first coin in the middle so that, it will always take odd number of coins to cover the table ....... i got it this time

"Since they were told to raise the hand when they see red, X and Y had red and Z had black, X realised he had red cap because Y was raising hand when Z had black cap, he was the one left with red cap which Y saw."

Correct, Ritthe_jasus!

Ok, now what if all of them had red caps, how'd x find he is wearing red cap? Same scenarion, only this time all of them with red caps. Dare it? :P

Okay, here's the question to all who are interested:

There are three people and they are blindfolded. Now, they are given one cap each, all of them are given red caps, which they wear, unware what color it is. However, they are told that either they either have a black cap or a red cap and they can see two other's cap once the blindfold is removed. Also, they are told that once the blindfold is removed, and if they see any red cap, they will have raise their hand.

Now they open their eyes. One can't see what one is wearing, but can see two other's cap. One of the people their would be able to tell "I am wearing red cap!" logically. How?

hehe, well, with little more "torture" to your brain, maybe it will help you get it. Same logic, that you applied for 2 red and 1 black caps/cap, applies to this as well, but way too complicated than the former one. Try if you want.

Not going to give answer this early! :P :D

damn ok i will wait for slackdemic ........ but republic what happened to the answer ....... first move have to be to put coin at the center of the table, coz it always take odd number of coins to fill the whole round table if you put the first one at the center.

Republican, you did not mention that you and I have same amount of coins and also nothing about overlaping of coins. So is it to get smaller heap of coins than yours?

Well, everybody is raising the hands, so I think not only one but all three would know they are wearing red caps, would not they?

ritthe jasus, karma - you are more or less correct. there's a little more to the solution.

to make sure you win, you have to go first and place the coin right at the center of the table - that is the only point on the circle which doesn't have a "reflection" point. after that, every spot on the table has a "reflection", i.e. an exact opposite point. so each time the other person places a coin on the table, you place your coin on the "reflection" spot. this ensures that you will always be the last person to place the coin on the table.

thats what i meant if I put a coin in center, the rest circles need even number of coins to complete a circle. I realised if I didnot put coin in circle even 2 or 4 coins can fill small tables, but if I put one at the centre it always requires odd number of coins. isn't that right republic

No, they won't know, Swatantratagaamy.

Okay, for example, A can see B and C wearing red cap; but how'd he know what he is wearing? If you think it is because he can see B and C raising their hands; but, B and C can raise their hands simplyt because they can see each other's red caps!

Ahh! You even haven't given a try! At least attempt it, then you never know, when you will get the right answer. You made very good logic when the case was people with two red and one black cap. The logic goes the same fashion, just that is goes little deeper than that one, and that is it!

:)

I keep making mistakes, even when correcting the mistakes..:(

"just this one goes little deeper than that one, and that is it."

Okay, a hint: Think of a scenario where X will think what would have happened had he been wearing a black cap, not a red cap....

I am pretty sure, you will get it now. ;)

got this slackdemic ....... X, Y and Z all raised their hands but noone could guess what color their hat was ........ for that to be true everyone of them have to be looking at 2 red hats .......... so X knew he had red had too because Y and Z were confused too. Howz that ???
