Well, Good old days seem to be back again!
And I would like to add my own contribution too; But I would like to request if you can be really patient, because I am not really a fluent writer and I do it only when my mood calls me in!! So I am putting this story as sequences!!
Every thursday: new part, That much I can promise!!and yeah it is a repost!!..:)

The lone stars: an unwritten story

She clicked on the sign in button. There was only mail in her mailbox. Nobody had actually written to her in long time. It had been long time since she had talked intimately, or written intimately to anyone. Usually, it would be “just a hi” letter to friends, and she had become fed up of those kinds of mail; then she stopped writing to anyone. She was too busy and there were many other things to keep in track of than old friends. Sometimes, she would call one of friends, sometimes one of them would call, and that would just merely become hi, hello, what you are doing etc. etc.
She clicked on the Inbox sign; there was mail from someone whom she knew intimately, exactly after three years or so (she had lost track of time).
Quickly she clicked on to see the letter. The message began to unfold.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Smriti,
Had been long time, since we had kept in touch, 1364 days to be exact. I am somewhere else now, you must be somewhere, and I had always wished you would be much happier, at least more than me. I am just keeping up with myself.
After I left I didn’t find myself in need of anyone; maybe I had lost faith too, but I was keeping up with myself. It was then I met her, actually she came to meet me. She was charming, caring and knew what was inside me. I saw you in her, and I knew I was not doing right to her, but I loved her company. She loved me; and I was too much lonely then, I loved her back. I know I am not perfect for such a lovely girl, but this time I don’t want to lose love so precious. I am getting married next week.
I know I am kind of selfish to write something like this to you after such a long time, but I needed to talk with someone who knew me entirely; and I couldn’t think anyone else than you.
I hope you are lot happier, and at your best.
Love,
Aakash
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The turmoil began to unfold in her minds, she had still not forgotten him and reminiscences began to run vividly in her minds.
They had been friends for more than 7 years. They had known each other better than he/ she would know himself/herself, they were soul mate. It was him who thought of breaking the friendship and she hadn’t bothered to keep track of him. She was just like that, coolest as usual, and no loss was great loss for her, just life would go on. He had gone his own way and she her own.
She had seen him first in that coffee shop. She had seen him first with her old friend from school. After that she had met him at college.
“Hey we had met before, haven’t we??” he had come to her.
“Aan coffee shop ma Arun sanga bheteko hoina??” She had remembered.
“Yup, Tmi pani yehin padhne ho??” He had continued the conversation.
“Ho!!”
That day they had become friends formally.
Although they were from different faculties, there was some chemistry between them; they clicked as good friends pretty soon.

They had reached Hile on the reserved rugged Land Rover jeep. The driver was a retired gurkha and a funny person in his late 40s. His funny jokes about the wars in Falkland Island had made the journey even easier; He would compare the tragedies of war there with Nepal whenever he would see maoist banners on the roadside of Koshi highway.
“Sir, Pahile bidesh ma gaayera ladiyo, aafnai desh ma ladai dekhnu parne raichha aahile!! Dukha lagchha herera!!” He would share his feelings.
Aakash was no mood in sharing anything; He was engrossed more in his own thoughts but would nod and would say yes no from time to time.
The road itself was a marvel among the hill roads with innumerable hairpin bends and majestic scenarios and the journey had just begun now. There was more long turning road ahead of him; and he had felt that seeing the abundance of rebel outfit even at most reachable parts.
“Yehin ho aasti bomb padkayeko tnihaarule; 10 12 jana army ni markeo thyo kyare!!” The driver said when they reached near Malbase. They passed through the the cone forests and several tea gardens before they reached the hazy town of Hile.
The sun had just risen from the eastern mountains shading golden rays over the hazy town. The haze as always had covered Hile and the warm smell of the tumbas and sukuti was well drifting over shiny little town. They had stopped for there for a cup of tea and some light breakfast: chana tarkari and some eggs with selroti. They had convinced the driver to take them to the point until the jeep goes.
The road was dusty and muddy starting from Hile down toward Pakhribas up to Leguwahgat; giving enough jolts to make anyone go haywire. They would find people going the same way on foot. Typical village people clad in daura surwal and fariya choli and occasional kurta surwals. It was different world out there.
They had just passed through the Pakhribas on further terrible road RNA had constructed just few months ago when couple of people waved for a lift. There was still couple of space left in jeep and Aakash decided to pick them up.
“Liyera jam dai! Khali chha, Bhada uthyo bhane tapain nai linu!!” He offered the driver and he was happy to get extra profit.
“Kahan samma?” Driver asked.
“Jaana ta Leguwa jaane ho!! Tara gadi pugchha ki pugdaina??” The skinny man clad in Dhaka topi, shirt and trouser and carrying a backpack in his early thirties answered. He had two children along with him and shy woman on her late 20s was beside him clad in Kurta.
“Basaun na!” Driver made offer.
“Bhada ni!!” the man asked.
“Herera chya kharcha dinu na!!” Driver said.
He sat in the jeep along with Aakash’s guide. He was a school teacher at Pyauli Bhanjyang. A rural part of Bhojpur; and had just came back from Dhankuta. The talks would never roam over from common talks. Aakash’s guide had warned him earlier that after Hile there is a new government out there; and he must take extra care. Aakash kept quite most of time.
They had just reached the mid point up when they reached the landslide and jeep could go no further.
“Aaba 12 km jati chha yehan baata.” The teacher declared.
Thanking the driver they moved on down to the Leguwaghat. The trek was straight downhill and the teacher and guide had determined some of their common relatives during the downhill trek.
It was well past mid afternoon when they reached Leguwaghat and they stopped for the lunch. Leguwaghat was a small town just starting to grow with road approaching from dhankuta settled at the banks of Arun River. The dusty road had made it approachable but still it was far away from the eyes of development. There were several poles without wires and there was not even single phone in the whole area. It looked like as if the wanted to move on forward in an astonishing pace but there was a steep climb right in front of it; and it was crawling through it.
Aakash could feel strange eyes piercing for him around the newly forming bazaar. He could not determine the common people from rebels: they all looked same and have curious eyes for him and his outfit. He was the only one clad in a branded half pant, a Reebok sweat shirt and nice piece of sneakers complete with an Adidas cap. He was stranger among his own people; and he can feel it through their eyes.
“Sir, Aaja Jarayotar basinchha hola.” His guide concluded.
“Ok!!” He answered.
They had some fish and rice at Leguwaghat and they ascended towards Jarayotar. They have entered the Bhojpur and now on completely new territory: land where central government existed nowhere.

Thanks everyone for your kind words!! Appreciate your comments!! :)

here is one for today:

***************************************

It was a two storied house with a Hulas Jasta pata as its roof. It rained heavily that night and sleeping under the roof was almost impossible for Aakash. He just listened to the snore of his guide on the other side of bed all night long.
The home owner of house they have stayed was one of victims of politics, and was in run for his life. He was appointed as a village chairman of Jarayotar by Maoists without his consent. He had no other options than leaving the village to reject the post which he couldn’t do and no other options to go hide when armies come on their monthly patrol. Aakash’s guide had made arrangements to stay at that home in hope that they could meet some Maoists leader from contact of the home owner. They had had brief conversation and he had promised to try his best to help them.
Next morning the home owner came to them.
“Pyauli ma chhan re area commander; Maile khabar pathaayeko chhu!! Tapain haaru aahile jaanu bho bhane bhet hola ki!!” He informed them next afternoon.
And they rushed without their lunch toward their destination. It was a straight climb from there. They had some wai wai on the way when they get too much hungry and could not move anymore and rushed again.
It was almost dark when they reached the vicinity of Pyauli and they were stopped by numbers of Maoists cadres in camouflages and 303s and SLRs.
“Comrade kata!” One of them asked them in hoarse voice.
“Hamilai Comrade Bishal bhetnu thyo; Pyauli samma jana lageko tesaile!” his guide answered.
“Kina??”
“Uhaan ko buwa ko bare bujhna, aasti nai Comrade Bishal ko interview lina aaunu bhayeko thyo!!”His guide was doing conversation.
“Yeh tehi patrakar!” the words hit the nerves of Aakash, but there was nothing he could do and he just kept his anger down his throats.
“la la janu!” They cleared them to move forward.
They reached Pyauli just before 8. And they searched for some place to stay. They had to wait till the dawn before they could meet the man.
Aakash couldn’t sleep well due to anxiety and look pale as ever from sleepless nights. They were to meet at an office of local NGO at 12 noon.
Comrade Bishal arrived an hour later in his camouflaged dress and with a revolver in his holster. He looked stern bearded man with medium built body and a cap with a star as emblem making him look somewhat like Che Guevara: idol for revolutionaries.
“Lal Salaam” He greeted.
“Namaste!” Aakash greeted back as he felt uncomfortable with the red salute.
“Tapain nai ho Sushilji ko chhora!” Comrade Bishal came to the point even before Aakash.
“Hajur.” He answered.
“K bujhna chahanu hunchha ta??” Comrade Bishal inquired.
“We don’t know where he is and who have taken him!” Aakash asked in most gentle manner possible.
“We haven’t! Why would we??” Comrade Bishal cleared.
“Then who would? We have been running to each office in Kathmandu since last month and nobody accepts it.” Aakash wanted an answer.
“So you are suspecting us??” The commander fired back.
“No, I just want to find my dad!” Aakash said.
“Then I don’t have answer!” Comrade Bishal stood up to walk away.
Aakash stood up to catch him just near the door leading outside.
“You can’t just walk away!” He saw him draw his revolver out as soon as he said the words.
He stood there dumbfounded to see they have been surrounded by a group of armies. And before he knew, the bullets had begun to fire from all directions possible.
Something has hit him and he felt a sweating pain just beside his chest and another one in his leg. His vision began to fade into black just beneath the dropped body of Comrade Bishal. He could see the pool of his blood mixing with the blood of Comrade Bishal just when he went into unconscious journey of his life.
He gained his consciousness after 9 long months on a bed of an elite hospital in Kathmandu and lots of things had changed in between the time. He had vague memories of some dialogues he heard in his coma and all felt like a long nightmare for him when he woke up after his sleep. He was later told, he was identified by the teacher he had given lift on way to Bhojpur as non-maoist and army had airlifted him to Kathmandu to save his life.
His thoughts came back to present. The man whom he just missed was the man who saved his life and he had not been able to thank all these time and he missed him once again.
Anita just came beside her and asked “Kina daudeko?”
He looked at confused face of Anita and replied “To thank someone because of him I am here right now with you!!” and smiled.
And Anita smiled back making her look wonderful than ever.

Juggy,
Now you are painting a social picture on your story of the broken hearts. The vast range of geography , time and emotions in the story; does this tell anything about the author?
Sndy,
Everything is messed up, I don't expect the ending to be a happy one. War ends happiness. Only thing we can expect good from the war is its end.
