India tried to make all the good news of Nepal as theirs.

Now may be all controversial news as other countries.
India might say now that Gandi was born in Nepal or may be South Africa. hahahaha and come up with some fake birth certificate.
Lies will never be hidden. It will come out one day sooner or later.

It really does not matter to me, personally, whether Gandhi was gay or straight.  He did a great service for his country.  He inspired the world with his non-violent philosophy.  That's how I would like to remember him.

Strong proof: Gandhi didn't have 32 teeth, only 30.

This fact matters to me as much as the fact whether he was a gay or not.

Gandhi is not here to defend himself. So all this she said she said bulshit is fueling this fire.  Just because some dood decided to write a book on the matter does not fact it a fact.  There were rumors that he slept with 18yr old girls, now this .. C'mon man.  Leave the guy alone.  Besides what will you gain riling up Indians ? NOTHING but hatred towards us.  Is this beneficial to Nepali community ?  Chainey nachainey Pyar pyar pyar karaucha ani jhappa border bandha garidincha ani Nepal ma has haaakar.  Tyo bhancha ni jun goru ko singh chaina tyeskai naam tiikhey !!

To those sajha basi friends who think being Gay or lesbian is just normal as being straight : go back to nepal or india and look society over there.
Dont compare our south asian society to US or European society .
Being gay is still considered as sin even in some rural american societies. So dont give me a damn lecture about thing which has no base in our society.

Wasn't shooting for a lecture session, just expressing my view as you expressed yours.

The context of homosexualism is indeed relevant in our society, not just in Nepal/India but in US as well. Big name authors, musicians etc are still coming forward and coming out of the closet although the surprise factor has significantly dimmed down. Like Anderson Cooper said, it is important for the homosexuals to come out and identify them as one.

Having said that what Gandhi did for not just India, but for the entire humankind, is so great that it doesn't matter what his sexual orientation is. It could be a water cooler conversation for you but since he no longer is alive, it would be nothing but a rumor to me, much like his 30 teeth I referenced above.
Gandhi epitomizes peace as a means to liberty. When freedom is sought, peaceful approach can now be thought of as an option, thanks to him. You might agree or disagree about him being the flag bearer of peace (sure Gautam Buddha would be the top most idol), but you cannot deny his presence in the history as the guy who showed the path to liberty without violence. Attaching this significant accomplishment of a great hero with sexual orientation debate is trivializing the essence of..well a significant accomplishment of the mankind.

My thoughts, not a lecture.

I agree with Nepali_american and Bathroomcoffee,

Had sexually abused minor or any adult, that would make difference, Otherwise there is nothing for Nepali to Cheer up and celebrate about Gandhi being a gay. The example he set by living a simple life and using non-violent means to protest British Occupation is the important thing.

Facebook what kind of an asinine statement is that ?  So Casteism is ok according to you, because it is our culture ?  Women were not even allowed to own property in Nepal untill recently.  And yet this simpleton thinks Nepali culture is a perfect utopian society ?  This mis construed sense of Pride has opressed our society for waaay too long.  This one of the main causes that has coagulated the growth and developement of Nepal. This is not a lecture but an observation.

Will this book create India bandha?

India generates a lot of such controversial comments against Nepal so that Nepalis do bandha in their own country and make their life themselves miserable.
